Toyota has issued a voluntary recall on 119,000 '03/'04 model year Avalon sedans. The problem with these vehicles, according to a statement made last week by Toyota, is that the “front airbag or seat belt pretensioners could inadvertently deploy.”
Ford's Freakiest F-350 Has Been Sold in Chicago. And Now That We Can Track It, We Should Kill It... With Fire!
As you might have read in an article a colleague of mine wrote a while ago, the 1994 Dodge Ram displayed at that year’s Detroit Auto Show is blamed/praised as the pickup design that set the tone for every rig that’s followed. And for that, we all—yes, ALL—should kiss the ring of anyone involved in the creation—and implementation—of that truck.

Tesla cares about its customers, and not only for their physical safety. With all the negative press surrounding the Model S and its alleged propensity for catching fire, Tesla has gone above and beyond to give buyers of this vehicle peace of mind.

If you’re someone who follows eBay car sales on a regular basis—which I’m sure you aren’t—you’d see that the great rise in automotive sales prices at “real-world” auctions aren’t being mirrored by their online counterparts.
Yes, $5,546,234 is a lot of money for just five cars—especially as they sold amidst a sea of rusty Dusters and mold-attacked Cadillacs—but eBay nonetheless seems to attract only high-end new car dealerships’ listing dollars which are meant mostly to move now-out-of-fashion used exotics.
Still, watch things long enough and you’ll find that there are some really, really expensive, to-die-for modern hypercars on eBay every now and again. It just so happens that this time it was five basically all at once. Enjoy!

There’s a joke that goes, “Do you want to know the easiest way to make a small fortune? Start with a big one.” And it just so happens that there are very few ways to do that faster than buying an aged exotic automobile at auction and then trying to keep it looking/running as-new.
Yes, a Roller, a Mercedes, and a Maserati can be had for MasterCard money. Just make sure none are ever sold to you.
Sure, these cars were lovingly assembled and packed to the rafters with only the finest in leathers, woods, and wools, but these businesses know from long experience that exotic cars—like any other rich persons’ fashion items—are not meant to be used year after year; it’s all about what’s new, next and never, ever used.
What it means for you, however, is that you can spend a pittance on purchasing a ride that will allow you to—honestly—tell others that you own a Mercedes, a Maserati or even a Rolls-Royce. [Just remember: The operative term here—as I will show you—is “tell”. This is a trio of funds-hungry vampires just waiting to bankrupt you in a thousand different ways, and they will impress no one that even glances at them…]

With the exception of the Mini, it seems we need a French or Italian car company to serve us up an economy car which actually has some design flair to it. The cliches here are the Fiat 500, the Citroen 2CV, the Peugeot 205. Since even high-priced Japanese and Korean offerings have typically been devoid of much original or interesting, low-priced models truly crossed the line between the romance of motoring and the practicality of a white good. With the Soul, Kia seem to be bucking that trend.

You couldn’t avoid the latest GM recall and the storm of media coverage around it even if you lived under a rock! As the saga unravels in front of our eyes, it’s hard not to wonder what the future will hold for GM. This is, after all, the same company that was already struggling to keep up in the most important class in the industry, the truck market. This isn’t, however, GM’s first rodeo and, to be fair, there isn’t a major auto maker out there that hasn’t had a scandalous recall of some kind... so here’s a look back at GM’s history of recalls.
Is there a car sitting in your driveway or garage? Do you depend on it to get you to work, school, doctor’s appointments and other necessary destinations? Most of us do. We count on the safety and dependability of our vehicles and trust that as long as we take care of them they will take care of us. And where does this trust come from? Manufacturers build it through information provided to us from advertisements and also word of mouth.

Close your eyes a minute and picture a police officer in his vehicle. He can be sitting on the side of the road manning a speed trap or coming up behind you when you’re going a little too fast. What did you see? I’m betting you saw a generic Crown Victoria sedan with a middle-aged man behind the wheel. It’s time to get that image out of your head.

If you were ever wondering, those commercials with the stoic guy and the kids sitting around a table hammer home the point: more is better than less. As a classic car lover, a visit to an exhibition would be a lot of fun, but why settle for just one when you can have more.
