Before the summer ends, showrooms will be getting the first Mercedes-Benz all electric compact cars. The B-Class Electric Drive will be the most expensive EV on the market to date, starting at $42,375. The question is whether or not consumers will see enough value to choose it over the less expensive Nissan Leaf or Chevy Spark, both of which are almost half the price.

The Mitsubishi FTO: Japan's best kept secret test 1-1

Several decades ago, Mitsubishi actually made exciting cars. They had names like Eclipse GSX, Galant VR-4, 3000GT/GTO, Conquest/Starion, Lancer Evolution, and the turbocharged Mirage Cyborg-R. But one of the more obscure models was a JDM sport coupe called the Mitsubishi FTO. It was hip, fun to drive, and it had the cutest little 2-liter V6 you've ever seen. So let's have a look at yet another sporty Mitsubishi that you've never heard of...

Cadillac unveils the farewell edition CTS-V Coupe test 1-1

When Cadillac launched its CTS-V back in 2004, everyone thought they were mad. But hindsight has provided a clearer view of their brilliance. Cramming a massively overpowered engine into a car that was designed on an Etch-a-Sketch was a good idea. Today's CTS-V(eeery fast) is a formidable competitor to performance stalwarts like the BMW M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG. The coupe version has few peers, save for an Audi RS and a $742k BMW M79 zDrive GrandSomething-or-other. But sadly it's about to wave goodbye, as the redesigned, sedan-only 2015 Cadillac CTS-V gets ready to launch. So let's have a look at the last 500 special edition CTS-V Coupes.

Audi A3 TDI test 2

VW’s Audi brand goes from strength to strength in terms of sales numbers, both in the old markets of Europe and North America, but also in what is increasingly the most important car market in the world, China. Is it deserved? Having recently been underwhelmed by the A1—a VW Polo with a brash grille—would the A3 be more impressive? Alas, not, I am afraid, after 1700 hard miles around Northern Italy and the Alps.

Motorcyclist Death Decreasing in the United States test 1-1

In the United States, motorcyclist deaths decreased by seven percent in 2013, making it only the second time that’s happened since 1997. The drop may be due to the lack of the kind of weather that lures bikers out, rather than safer driving, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA).

Happy Mother's Day test 1-1

Mother’s Day is this Sunday. I do hope none of you have forgotten to at least buy a card. In honor of the holiday, here are some thoughts and tidbits concerning mothers and driving. It should be stated that in my wanders across the web I found a disturbing number of news stories relating to awful mothers doing the unthinkable to their children and involving a vehicle. I have left all of that out. This article concerns affection, both to and from mothers everywhere.
