2015 Hillsborough Hillsborough Concours D'Elegance

2015 Hillsborough Hillsborough Concours D'Elegance test 1-1

Hillsborough Concours is one of the best events of the Northern California car show calendar. It takes place right on the San Andreas earthquake fault line, hard to believe since a more picturesque spot would be hard to find. Like Pebble Beach, it is on a golf course, with visitors parking and riding. Like Pebble, the show is a manageable number of cars, meaning you can walk around the field multiple times, revisiting favorite cars, rather than drowning in volume. Like Pebble, this year one of featured marques was Ferrari.

Muscle Cars Save Lives test 1-1

There is a quote that you see on bumper stickers and T-shirts that goes something like this: “If I have to explain it to you, you won't understand.” Up until now, this has applied to muscle cars, but we will provide a public service announcement later in this article that changes everything.

2016 Viper ACR - Smiles Abound

2016 Viper ACR - Smiles Abound test 1-1

We won't lie; when a new car like a Viper comes out we are as giddy as a five-year-old on Christmas morning. Full of enthusiasm and exuberance at the idea of not just something novel, but of the potential it might have to be the best… whatever… car it is. But, that's not where the fun ends. In past years, the idea of, say, a new Corvette, would have us grinning for days and that would be it. But then, a new Z06 would come out—Corvette, but even better! Our little hearts could only beat so fast. Then, as with the C6, the ultimate Vette, a ZR-1 shows up and that would be about all we could take.

Rental Camaro test 2

I have done a great deal of traveling throughout my life, and I have found that renting a car is kind of fun. You explore your options when you are making the reservation, and you have decisions to make with regard to the price. You can go the economy route, but if you are willing to dip into your wallet, you a have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a car that you have always wanted to drive.

2016 Chevy Camaro: A Star Is Born!

2016 Chevy Camaro: A Star Is Born! test 1-1

It seems that this is the way things have been determined in the stars—a new Mustang comes out, and not long after, a new Camaro appears hot on its heels. This has been the way of things since the debut of the Mustang in April of 1964, a little less than three years later GM launched its counterattack in September of 1966.  Since then, the time gaps have gotten shorter, but the rivalry has only gotten bigger. The two sides have traded wins and losses, mostly dictated by sales, but also by track numbers and bragging rights. The 2015 Mustang was the new kid on the block, but its time is up and the 2016 Camaro is on its way to crash the party. Sporting enough changes to signify a generational change, this will be the sixth iteration of the Camaro since its inception, and it looks like it could be the baddest one yet.

Miami Vice Ferrari test 2

There is a handful of TV shows that ultimately defined popular culture during certain eras. I first came of age during the late 1970s, and the Charlie's Angels series was one of those shows at that time. It first aired in 1976 when I was 16, and it lasted through 1981.
