Amid a surge of demand for its hyperefficent i8 supercar, BMW is considering a significant increase in production. Mercedes Reintroducing the Maybach' Somebody Call Rick Ross!! test 1-1

Back in 2002, Mercedes relaunched the Maybach brand to compete with Rolls Royce and Bentley at the top of the market. The ultra-lux brand quickly found favor with Asian moguls and American rappers, but high production costs and low volume led to its demise in 2012. Mercedes is hoping that the third time will be the charm, however, as they once again resurrect the Maybach name for a bespoke version of the new S-Class. So break out those gold chains and get ready for the reeeeeeeemix!

Honda Launches the Acura RLX in Japan, Renames it "Legend". Could the U.S. Model Be Revived? test 1-1

Things are starting to change at Acura, and the new flagship 2014 Acura RLX is a big step in the right direction. For its home-market debut, the Acura shield was ditched for a Honda badge (Acuras aren’t sold there) and ‘Legend’ replaces that RLX cryptogram. The Legend name evokes as much respect in Japan as it does here, so we may actually see another Acura Legend on our shore...

Mazda CEO Officially Ends Speculation Of RX Revival test 1-1

In the automotive industry, there are numerous rumors that simply refuse to be refuted or killed. Indeed, prior to the Nissan GT-R unveiling, speculation swirled for years about its development, and the upcoming NSX was shrouded in its own version of secrecy and rumors before its formal debut as a concept several years later. However, unlike those two cases of speculation that eventually bore the fruit of driving goodness, fans of the iconic Mazda RX sports car, who were hoping for a revival of the rotary-powered wonder to replace the RX-8, will be disappointed to hear that no such model is in the works and that the idea appears to have been shevled for the long term.

Honda Reveals $750 Million Dollar Ontario Investment test 1-1

In an announcement released earlier this week, Honda rvealed that it is investing $750 million ($857 million CAD) in its Ontario-based operations. It's a bid to make the Alliston-based plant there the global leader for production of the company's popular Civic sedan. This would not only cement the crucial importance of the plant, it would also allow the facility to receive the important technical updates and assembly technology needed to keep up with Civic production while also allowing the company to train a new generation of Honda workers.

Audi Recalls 101,000 A4/S4 Models

Audi Recalls 101,000 A4/S4 Models test 1-1

Audi's parent compan,y Volkswagon, has called back 101,938 of its kids to the house for some repairs. It seems that specific A4 and S4 models made between February 16, 2012 and October 21,2014 as well as Allroad models made between March 12, 2012 and the same October 21, 2014 are all coming back due to a faulty algorithm (yes, an algorithm, like math class stuff) in the air bag control module. This faulty algorithm may cause the front air bags to not deploy if a secondary impact occurs to the front of the vehicle after the deployment of the side air bags. Obviously, if there is a frontal crash, the entire point of the front air bags is, of course, to deploy. Without them, these model year 2013-2015 Audis might as well be model years 1984-1987 in terms of safety equipment, or the lack thereof.

Audi/Volkswagon will notify all owners and the recall is expected to begin November 11. The fix is free and relatively painless—just an update the to the car's software. Owners may contact Audi at 1-800-822-2834 with any questions. Read on for the full report ...

Hyundai - Kia to Pay $300 Million in Penalties for Overstating MPG Figures test 1-1

Last year, Hyundai/Kia was caught inflating their fuel economy ratings. Their un-official numbers caused many customers to expect more from a gallon of gas than their Korean eco-box could deliver. And now Uncle Sam wants his pound of flesh, and it’s gonna hurt…

NHTSA Grants Aston Martin Temporary Exemption From Upcoming Safety Rules test 1-1

Several months ago it was widely reported that new U.S. safety regulations regarding side-impact collisions threatened to possibly force Aston Martin to remove its two most profitable models (the DB9 and Vantage) coupes from the marketplace which would've had a devestating effect on the company as a whole. The company and its dealer networks rose in protest;, in an announcement released late last weekend, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) agreed and granted the British nice car maker an exemption.

Vantastic: 2015 Chevrolet City Express to Compete in the Compact Commercial Van Arena test 1-1

The new 2015 Chevy City Express is GM’s answer to the uber-popular 2015 Ford Transit Connect. These cheap little haulers are designed to give small businesses a big advantage when it comes to transporting things. They also provide a free advertising platform, with plenty of side real estate for vinyl wrap signage. But Chevy didn’t exactly come up with the City Express on their own. It’s the badge-engineered twin of something else. Can you guess what this little Chevy van is based on?
