Automobile Trivia test 1-1

The world’s population has been interested in the most, least, best, and worst things since Guinness started putting out its book, and before. Here is a list of interesting trivia facts about automobiles, driving, and doing weird things with our vehicles.

Why Drive When You Can Fly? test 1-1

It was only a matter of time. Since the first literary geniuses invented the concept of a flying car, humanity has been waiting for one. Well, now you can reserve yours from a company called Terrafugia. Their tagline is Driven to Fly. According to their website the average commuter spends five hours a week stuck in traffic and more than a million people die in auto related accidents every year. Their answer is the flying automobile.

The Vehicles of Halloween

The Vehicles of Halloween test 1-1

When I am asked what my dream car is I always say a Cadillac Station Wagon. Usually the response is that Cadillac doesn’t make a station wagon. They actually make one, but it is more commonly called a hearse. I want one of the old rounded models instead of the more modern angular ones. Just think of all the groceries I could bring home!

It’s almost Halloween so I thought a jaunt into the history of hearses was appropriate.

Packing For a Road Trip test 1-1

You’ve been counting down for days or even weeks and now it’s finally time for your road trip. Whether for business or pleasure, the preparation for a trip is stressful. Here are a few things to remember to bring or do when you’re packing.

Now, Really!!! test 1-1

Saudi Arabia definitely has a problem with its women. They aren’t allowed to go out unless they are covered head to toe. They must have a male guardian to do almost anything and must get permission from this guardian to study, work, travel, marry, or seek healthcare. The guardian has the authority to sell them into marriage. Now, of all things, women want to drive. Heavens, how inappropriate!

The Modern Gypsy

The Modern Gypsy test 1-1

Oh, to be a gypsy and wander at will, never knowing where you’ll be tomorrow! My husband and I have had a plan for years now to retire to a motor home and see the country in our old age. We’ve planned to purchase our motor home a year before we retire so I can pack and repack at my leisure. Anything that’s not in the motor home has to be discarded, so I want time to decide what I’m keeping and what must be sacrificed. But when that’s done, oh, the freedom!

With today’s technology this is not such an outlandish idea. What with cell phones and laptops, staying in touch is easy and, unfortunately, even bills find you with ease wherever you happen to be. And with onboard GPS you’ll always know where that is.

Tesla: Still A Few (Fire)Bugs In The System

Tesla: Still A Few (Fire)Bugs In The System test 1-1

Isn’t it exciting when you watch a movie and there’s a car crash scene? You hold your breath until anyone in the car gets out safely. It’s even more exciting when they don’t. Then there’s an explosion and a fire! Of course, we know that all this was planned and happened exactly as it was meant to. There are really very few reasons for an automobile to burst into flames, even in an accident. A normal vehicle doesn’t do that.

Is Your Pet Safe in Your Car?

Is Your Pet Safe in Your Car? test 1-1

We all love our pets. I mean, they love us unconditionally with no judgments, no grudges, and they never tell us we’re wrong. My dogs have an easy job. I’m never wrong so they don’t have to bite their tongues. They cheer us up, comfort us, and protect us. Is it asking too much to reciprocate?

Temporary Tags: What You Should Know test 1-1

When you purchase a car from a dealership, they are responsible for the processing and completion of your tag and title paperwork. You will sign all documentation that the state needs to transfer ownership of the vehicle from the dealership to you. If you have a license plate to transfer this will be done for you by the dealership. However, if you do not have a tag to transfer the process is a little different.

Update on the Bailout test 1-1

Did we have a recession or a depression? It depends on who you ask but we’re now being told that it is over, or almost at least. So how is the automotive industry doing after the government (the taxpayers) came to the rescue?

Hanging Up the Keys

Hanging Up the Keys test 1-1

Driving is a huge responsibility. You take your life and the lives of your passengers into your own hands. The decisions you make while driving could potentially change the lives of anyone on the road, including those not in vehicles. If you’ve read my other pieces you know I like to approach most subjects with a dose of humor. This topic is serious though and you won’t find much to laugh at. Hopefully you will find some food for thought.
