Throughout The Car Industry
As we watch Toyota competing at the Le Mans 24-hour race, it is worth remembering that one Japanese company has already won this European endurance classic: Mazda, using the Wankel engine technology which they alone have pursued for nigh on five decades now. Mazda would like us to believe some of this motorsports pedigree, this engineering cool, rubs off on their workaday Civic competitor, the 3. I spent a few hundred miles with a 2014 Mazda3 to determine if they're right.

Being the head of Russia’s government has its perks, even in these post-Soviet days. As proof, President Vladimir Putin is pushing ahead with plans for a fleet of custom-built vehicles that would turn even the wealthiest dot-com billionaires green with envy. Dubbed “Project Cortege,” the initiative formally started in 2011, after earlier efforts were put on hold due to economic and financial issues.

Okay, you’ve got $25 grand to spend, and you want a little car that’s small enough to maneuver through traffic, yet still has enough room for 4 (5 in a pinch), and a reasonably sized trunk. What are your options? Well, if you’re the sort of person that actually eats fiber in order to maintain a regular schedule, then you might consider the 2014 Honda Civic Hybrid. It’s got a roomy interior with nice materials and a raft of electronic gadgets. The Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system yields a 401k-friendly 45 average mpg, and it’ll depreciate even slower than it accelerates. But if you’re the sort of person that conquers constipation with Taco Bell and a 12-pack, then you’d probably be interested in the 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. It’s got a powerful turbo-4, AWD, and more attitude than a constipated teenager. Decisions, decisions…

We know the all-aluminum Range Rover is one of the capable off-roaders on the planet. Now the 2015 Range Rover has taken that ability to a whole new level. That’s right, the new Rover, and its jock twin, the 2015 Range Rover Sport, can literally drive themselves off-road…
Jaguar has taken the wraps off the future of its popular F-Type sportscar earlier today by unveiling a new member to the family: the 2016 Jaguar F-Type Coupe. The model will bring all-wheel drive to the F-type lineup for the first time ever in a bid to increase sales, while also making the F-Type a four-season performance star.

In the car world, being a Ferrari test driver has got to be the best job in the world. “Heya, Luigi, take’a this 458 out an see’a if it breaks’a”. So you tear out of the factory, bound for Ferrari’s private 1.9-mile test track outside of Maranello. Then you bomb the freshly built supercar around Fiorano’s curves and straightaways until something goes ’Bam!’. Such is the life of the lucky bastard in this video. And you get to watch as he beats the livin' hell out of a Giallo Modena yellow 458. Turn your speakers up so you can hear that V8 wail.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly sedan that looks good, and gets great gas mileage, you won’t do much better than the 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid. It’s got a well-sorted gas-electric powertrain that makes 188hp. The suspension is tuned for athletic handling, it looks like a baby Aston Martin, and Consumer Reports says you’ll average around 39 mpg. But what if you still play air guitar at stoplights, and your idea of ‘cutting carbs’ is drinking light beer? Is a hybrid Ford really going to satisfy your inner Ozzy? Probably not. You need a Dodge Charger SRT8.

The 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid is one of the safest automotive choices you can make. Its styling will offend no one, yet the Camry Hybrid badge still carries plenty of street cred on the cul-de-sac. The drivetrain is reliable and efficient. And it’s got just enough pep to make most drivers think “it’s sporty”. But for the same money, you could get a V10-powered supersedan that can turn your morning commute into an adrenaline-charged video game. It might measure fuel economy in feet-per-gallon, but it’s worth every penny. If you’re still young enough to poop without pills, then you owe it to yourself to checkout the E60 BMW M5.

The 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat is one of the nuttiest 4-doors that you can buy. It’s powered by a 707hp volcano, it can achieve a top speed of 204 mph, and it even has enough room for the wife and kids. There’s a handful of supersedans that can do the same thing, but they cost as much as a house (a nice house). The Dodge Hellraiser on the other hand... costs less than a 2015 Chevy Suburban. God bless America!

In the right hands, a Ferrari can do amazing things. It reacts to your input much faster than a normal car, and that allows you to cover large tracts of land very quickly. They can also make you look like a complete idiot, if you allow your ego to take the wheel. Our tool of the day discovered this fact the hard way. And it is funny.
Usually, when you have regrets, you regret something that you did, not something that you didn't do. I have recently had the opposite experience.
