Bugatti To Cancel Veyron, Build New Sedan

Bugatti To Cancel Veyron, Build New Sedan test 1-1

Well, here's a mix of good and terrible news. It seems that Bugatti has made a pretty dramatic resolution for the new year, and we're not entirely loving it. The good news is that the marque will reportedly be working on a new sedan that's based on VW cousin, the Audi A8. After seeing the 16C Galibier last fall, we're eager to see a Bugatti sedan headed toward production. We were quite happy with that bit of rumoring.

The bad news is that to make room for the new sedan, Bugatti plans to wind down production of its iconic Veyron, arguably the world's most excessive, outrageous supercar. Since the Veyron launch in 2000, the names "Bugatti" and "Veyron" have been near synonymous, but it looks like the brand may be content with letting the Veyron retire as a world-record holder. According to reports, Bugatti will look to wind the Veyron down by 2014.

One-Off Ferrari Enzo Prototype Now For Sale test 1-1

Happy New Year, ultra-wealthy car collectors; there's an exciting new piece up for sale. Look quickly and you may think that you're staring at a Testarosa, but what you're actually looking at is an Enzo prototype from 2000. No, it doesn't have that distinctive beak that we've come to know and love from the Enzo, but it's got a pretty beautiful look all its own. And it's a one-of-a-kind prototype, making it a potential collection flagship.

If you happen to be in the city, welcome in the new year by taking a trip to see one of the most advanced car concepts of 2010.

Lamborghini Working on a 50th-Anniversary Supercar test 1-1

Lamborghini has been very busy of late. Between getting its brand new flagship ready for primetime, retiring its former range-topping Murcielago, showing off its new direction with new concepts and new engines, and continuing to build its Gallardo line, the company has had its hands full. And this week, whispers of another upcoming project suggest that Lamborghini is even busier than we thought. The Bull's 50th anniversary is coming up in 2013, and it will reportedly release a special edition car in honor of itself. There's no official word as to what that car might be, but there are a few educated guesses.

Pagani C9 Gets a [Worthless] Teaser Video test 1-1

With the year coming to a close, there is a budding sense of excitement and optimism within the automotive world. We already know that 2011 will be a big year in the supercar market. Porsche has an undisclosed but "spectacular" new car to show in Detroit next month, a car that's thought to be a high-end supercar. Lamborghini appears ready to launch its Aventador LP700-4 at moment's notice, and will likely do so at the Geneva Motor Show. And Pagani has its own new car for Geneva: the V12-powered C9. Yes, it's going to be a good couple of months.

Helping to stoke our excitement, Pagani has given us a little new-year teaser of its supercar. Now, the C9 has been anything but a stranger to spy photos and speculation, but this our first official look from Pagani. That is, if you can call it a "look".

Donkervoort Spreads Christmas Cheer With Teaser Card test 1-1

If you're going to get a Christmas card that doesn't include bills or a check, it may as well be from a maker of rare, retro cars. And depending upon the total amounts of the checks and bills in other holiday cards, the Donkervoort Christmas card may very well have been the best card of the entire season. Donkervoort didn't send out money or gift cards to those on its card list, but it did send out the next best thing: a teaser picture of its upcoming D8 GTO planted right on front.

New reports indicate that the 2012 Porsche 911, which we're expecting to see for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show next fall, will get more significant updating than originally believed. The car is rumored to have a completely new set of dimensions in addition to smaller, more efficient engines. However, since it's a 911, it should look exactly the same.

Ferrari To Bring Hybrid 612 HY-KERS To Geneva test 1-1

Ferrari boss Luca de Montezemolo  told the media last week that Maranello is readying a new car for the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, which gets underway in March. The ever-speculative auto media suggests that this new model is likely the 2012 612 Scaglietti. Further, the Montezemolo's statement suggests that instead of a traditional gas powertrain, the newest member of the Ferrari family may very well be updated with a HY-KERS system similar if not identical to the one shown on the 599 GTB at last year's Geneva show.

Audi and Bentley, meet Aston Martin and Maybach. More accurately, the partnership would be a broader team-up between Aston Martin and Daimler.
