$1.9-Million Aston Martin One-77 is Now On The Road test 1-1

We knew Aston Martin's distinctive, super-expensive supercar was coming this year, and now that it's been spotted out on the road, it looks like Aston has begun deliveries. A black One-77 was spotted in front of the Hotel de Paris in the center of Monte Carlo. And a casual spy took pictures to prove it.

Uncharacteristically, Aston didn't mark the first delivery with a press release of any kind, but given that the car was spotted far away from Gaydon, without manufacturer plates, it appears to be the first delivered model.

Bentley To Offer Two V8 Engines test 1-1

When Bentley introduced the 2011 Continental GT back in the fall, it indicated that the model would be available with a V8 in addition to the W12 engine. Since that time, we've learned that  a 4.0-liter V8 is being developed for the car in conjunction with fellow VW automaker Audi. New rumors out of Europe now point to two V8 engine options that will be made available to Continental GT buyers next year.

Mach 7 Falcon; The Latest American-Made Supercar test 1-1

The U S of A is really set to take a bigger role in the supercar market. Once relegated to small, European automakers, companies like Shelby Supercars and TranStar Racing have given  Americans supercars all their own. The latest company to debut a car of super proporsions is Holly, Michigan-based Mach7 Motorsports. In a rather small, un-buzzy appearance, the company debuted the 640-hp, 15-model Falcon at the Detroit Motor Show last month.

Video: Close Up With The Pagani Huayra

Video: Close Up With The Pagani Huayra test 1-1

If you want to get close to the Pagani Huayra, you can either buy yourself a ticket to Geneva and see it at its world debut in March, wait for Pagani to bring it here to the States, or jump the break and watch a short but sweet video clip that takes you around the exterior and inside the cabin. The choice seems clear.

Shortly after Pagani showed the Huayra last week, Evo released this video clip of the hands-on tour. The lucky guy gets to brush up against the curvy body, sit inside the plush, leathery interior; get hands-on with the touchscreen display; play with the adjustable air flaps, and start the 700-hp V12. Unfortunately, he's indoors, so there's no actual driving footage, but the minute-and-a-half-long clip is worth it just for the close look at the Huayra.

Noble Launches M600 Supercar

Noble Launches M600 Supercar test 1-1

The Noble M600 supercar has been in development for a few years now, and last week the hard work came to fruition. Noble introduced the 650-hp supercar and indicated that it will go on sale later this year. With a powerful engine and lightweight components all over, the M600 promises to be one of the most exhilarating cars of 2011.

The M600 packs a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 Yamaha engine that puts out 650 horses and 604 lb-ft. If you don't think you can handle all that power (Nancy), then you can adjust the power output to 450 or 550—after all, it's not like you need 650 ponies on a trip to the convenience store. Then, again, you don't really need a Noble M600 for that, either. The engine is mated to a Graziano six-speed manual transmission.

Lamborghini Updates Its Other Car With The Gallardo Bicolore

Lamborghini Updates Its Other Car With The Gallardo Bicolore test 1-1

The world's attention may be focused on the Lamborghini Aventador and the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, but there's another winter motor show going on right now, and there's another Lamborghini showing its stuff. Lamborghini presented a special edition it calls the 2011 Gallardo LP560-4 Bicolore at the Qatar Motor Show.

Lamborghini hasn't done anything to upgrade the LP560-4's capability; it leaves the 560-hp 5.2 liter engine, e-gear transmission, and AWD layout untouched. Instead, Lambo focuses on the look of the car, and predictably, considering the name, presents a two-colored car with a distinctive look all its own. The cabin exterior comes in one color: black, while the lower half of the body comes in a selection of colors including giallomidas (yellow), arancio borealis (orange), grigiotelesto (grey), biancomonocerus (white), and blucaelum (blue). 15-spoke aluminum-alloy titanium grey wheels round out the exterior.

Video: Ferrari FF Concept Takes The Track test 1-1

Love it or hate it, the Ferrari FF concept is coming and it's replacing the 612 Scaglietti. Ferrari did an internet unveil of the concept FF last Friday and plans to bring it to the Geneva Motor Show. This week, we got our first look at the uncovered FF in action thanks to a testing video from the Circuito di Balocco in Italy. Though the video watches more like a teaser or commercial, it's the first live action we've seen of unmasked Ferrari shooting brake, and it looks pretty smooth taking the curves under the stars.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage Gets Slight Upgrade With 'S' Model

On: Fri, Jan 28, 2011 at 6:08PM | By: Chris Weiss

Aston Martin V8 Vantage S test 2

The lil' Aston Martin Vantage has just gotten a little bigger. Aston Martin introduced the V8 Vantage S today, a model that is a little more powerful, agile, and quick, thanks to a few key upgrades. If you demand the utmost performance, the V8 Vantage S may be the Aston for you.

The S variant gets 10 extra horses over the standard V8 Vantage, pulling out of the garage with a 430-hp 4.7-liter V8 engine. That engine also benefits from a new Sportshift II seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission that Aston claims cuts shift times by 20 percent. While Aston didn't specify, the new transmission is expected to improve upon the V8 Vantage's 14/20 mpg EPA rating. It also cuts about 52 lbs. off the total weight of the car, contributing to the S model's 66-lb. loss.

2006 Ferrari FXX Evoluzione Fetches $2.1 Million

2006 Ferrari FXX Evoluzione Fetches $2.1 Million test 1-1

The 2006 Ferrari FXX Evoluzione made good on its promise to rein in over 2 million dollars at auction. It didn't quite make it to the estimated $2.5 million, but it came close, fetching a $2.09 million dollar price at auction last weekend. The FXX was the flagship of a private collection from the late Benny Caiola. The Ferrari led a pack of eight cars that topped million-dollar bids at the auction, and its $2.09 million selling price was the highest at the 2011 Scottsdale Auction Week.

David Gooding, president and founder of Gooding & Co., predicted that this would be but one example of strong auction sales this year, explaining: "Strong 2011 auction sales will result from an increasing demand for preservation-class quality cars." He was using last week's sale of a 1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic and a 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster as examples.

Fully Official: Pagani Unveils The Huayra

Fully Official: Pagani Unveils The Huayra test 1-1

Geneva may be more than a month away, but thanks in part to a leak, Pagani has revealed the Huayra. Instead of having to sit through a dull, unrevealing fifth teaser video, we now have full details and crisp, clean pictures of the supercar. And it looks like a million bucks—as well it should, because it will cost even more.

Pagani was in the middle of a rather slow, uncompelling teaser campaign when a few leaked images from Car magazine and CarsUK hit the Web and completely overshadowed the release of the fourth (of five) teaser video last Friday. We knew it was only a matter of time before Pagani salvaged what was left of its climactic reveal and came clean.

Gumpert To Unveil a Fast Tourer In Geneva

Gumpert Tornante test 2

It's really been a great year for supercars. We've already had a new Ferrari. The Pagani Huayra has leaked. The Lamborghini Aventador is coming. And now news of yet another exciting Geneva unveil: a Gumpert 'Fast Tourer'.

One of the rarer, less-known names even in a field of rare, low-profile supercars, Gumpert is the German force behind the track-focused (but road-legal), V8-powered Apollo. The new, two-seat Tourer was designed in conjunction with Italian firm Touring Superleggera, which was integral in Bentley's Continental Flying Star that debuted at last year's Geneva show. The new Gumpert is expected to become Gumpert's second production vehicle and will likely join the Apollo in Gumpert's line.
