Making Of Ferrari FF Promo Video

Making of Ferrari FF Promo Video test 2

Ferrari already wowed us with its 3.5-minute official FF promo video showing the concept tackling about every type of terrain that a vehicle can tackle. Now it's done it once again with a making-of video that shows exactly how the promo was put together.

When it comes to auto videos, there's a massive disparity between the people who watch them and the people who make them. As viewers, we watch the video unfold within minutes. But on the other side of the camera, a crew of professionals works tirelessly for hours and days on end to create a visual masterpiece worthy of a car bearing a Prancing Horse or Raging Bull. All that work doesn't really matter to the viewer; the only thing that matters is the final product. Within minutes, viewers make a polar decision: thumbs up/thumbs down.

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Sold Out For More Than a Year

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 test 2

Lamborghini executives' faces are probably even redder than the Arancia Argos paint that covers the Aventador LP700-4 that we're most familiar with. Not from embarrassment, but from sheer excitement. The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 debuted earlier this month to rave reviews and plenty of the right kind of attention, and the buyers are really responding. We already knew the Aventador LP700-4 was sold out, first-year supplies were announced gone just barely after the car had even made its official entrance in Geneva, but reports last week indicate that it's even 'sold outer' than we thought.

Scorched Earth: Lamborghini Aventador Races Across Desert

Lamborghini Aventador Races Across Desert test 2

We've seen the Ferrari FF concept work its way through just about every obstacle that solid ground can possibly create. But our visual experience with the Lamborghini Aventador has been limited to a rather slow, dull drive across the streets of Berlin.

Up until this week. Lamborghini's newest masterpiece was filmed in California for an upcoming ad campaign, and some of the footage has hit the Web.

Porsche Working On Mid-Level Supercar To Take On Ferrari 458

Porsche test 2

Not long after Porsche confirmed that it was building the 918 Spyder, rumors about other super-911 plans started flowing. Word was that Porsche was going to build a second supercar to slot between the 918 and the 911. Well, according to Autocar, those plans are alive and well, and Porsche will be positioning the car against the likes of the Ferrari 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4-12C.

Porsche chief Matthias Mueller gave a peek behind the scenes: "We’re looking to extend the range; we’ve got an idea to do another mid-engine model. We’re thinking above the 911 but below the 918 Spyder."

Pagani To Build Huayra Roadster and Possible 'Entry Level' Model

Pagani Huayra Roadster test 2

Well, here's some good news straight from the top of the Pagani food chain. Horacio Pagani confirmed that his supercar company plans to build a Huayra convertible within the next couple years. According to its founder, the company is also considering an entry level model. When your current car slots in at well over a million dollars, we're not sure how "entry level" we're talking, but it's just good to know that more Paganis are [potentially] on the horizon.

De Tomaso Pantera Will Price at $400,000

De Tomaso Pantera test 2

Word that the planned sports coupe from the new De Tomaso would, indeed, be a Pantera revival came earlier this month out of Geneva. That was great news, but left us with all kinds of questions, like what would power the car, what it would look like, and how much it would cost. While two-thirds of those questions remain unanswered, we have an answer to one: the Pantera will cost a rather lofty 250,000 pounds ($410,000), according to company executives. That price point puts it above the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 ($379,700), so it looks like De Tomaso plans a serious, performance coupe.

Video: Close and Intimate With Pagani Huayra test 1-1

The Pagani Huayra is one of those cars that we just can't get enough of. So, we were quite ecstatic to see an all-new video of the Italian supercar earlier this week.

Filmed at the 10th annual "Motori e Sapori" (Motors and Tastes) event near Pagani's factory in Italy, the car is slightly different from the Huayra that Pagani debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. It's actually a prototype—Prototype 4 to get all particular—that Pagani will be using to test out future iterations of the Huayra.

Koenigsegg Details Specs Of The Agera R

On: Thu, Mar 24, 2011 at 2:44PM | By: Chris Weiss

Koenigsegg Agera R test 2

We learned just about all there was to know about the Koenigsegg Agera R back at the Geneva Motor Show: 5.0-liter twin turbo V8 worth 1,115 hp and 885 lb-ft, 2,926 lbs. worth of  weight, 273 mph "theoretical top speed", and custom gear from Thule and ski-maker Extrem for a special winter package. We were impressed.

What we didn't learn, however, was nearly as important as what we did. Koenigsegg offered the very shifty 273-mph speed, but didn't say a word about acceleration or other performance specs. This week, it's come clean.

Porsche 918 Spyder Is On Sale For $845K

On: Thu, Mar 24, 2011 at 10:29AM | By: Chris Weiss

Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid test 2

The world's most exhilarating hybrid is officially available. Porsche opened up its order books on the 918 Spyder on Monday, paving the way for up to 918 customers to own the world's hottest plug-in. The 918 Spyder brings a little sticker shock with its sexy exterior and green-but-potent numbers; Porsche has priced the model well above estimates and rumors at $845,000. But, since the 918 Spyder is essentially in a league of its own in terms of hybrid technology and performance, that would be Stuttgart's prerogative.

1,000-MPH Car Nearing Testing Phase

Bloodhound SSC test 2

When it comes to production cars and speed, the 268-mph Bugatti Veyron Super Sport reigns supreme. But, if you're willing to invest millions toward building a massive, bullet-shaped vessel powered by a series of F1, jet, and rocket engines, then you're looking at numbers surpassing three times the speed of the Bugatti Veyron. The current absolute land speed record—you know the kind that's achieved on dried salt flats, as opposed to paved tracks—stands at just over 763 mph. But an ambitious team plans to best that by more than the world-record speed of the Veyron SS. The Bloodhound SSC has an estimated top speed of 1,050 mph, and it is nearing testing.

Rumor: 10 Years of New Lamborghinis

Rumor: 10 Years of New Lamborghinis test 1-1

Here we thought that Lamborghini rumors were going to take a nice, long vacation, what with the Aventador having been revealed earlier this month. Instead, we have one of the biggest, juiciest Lamborghini rumors ever. This isn't your typical one-model rumor; it's a rumor about 10 years worth of Lamborghini production plans. It's new models and facelifts replacing models that haven't been introduced or even confirmed. It's like a glimpse at Stephan Winkelmann's [alleged] hard drive. Given how far-reaching these rumors are, we wouldn't trust them straight out, but they certainly give us something to ponder.

Where to start? The source: the rumors come from a rather extensive post over at Teamspeed, so, again, don't believe everything you read, but have fun reading and dreaming.
