Six-Wheeled Covini C3A Runs Goodwood, To Be Joined By Race And Eco Versions test 1-1

The oddity that is the Covini C3A became the first six-wheeled supercar to make an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The insect of supercars attracted much attention at the event, leaving people wondering why the Italian automaker chose to build a car with two extra wheels.

Ferrari Fail! 458 And GTO Crashes On Vallelunga

Ferrari Fail! 458 And GTO Crashes On Vallelunga test 1-1

Unlike the Bugatti Veyron, which has suffered from a rash of horrible owners/drivers for the past few years, the Ferrari 458 Italia has suffered more from its own shortcomings. Specifically, the car was subject to a series of highly publicized fires due to combustible adhesive. Ferrari issued a recall, fixed the problem and moved forward.

But that doesn't mean the 458 Italia is entirely safe. Like the Veyron and any other car, it still requires a competent driver. And one driver that participated in the recent Vallelunga Ferrari Club Italia event proved less than competent.

Teaser Sketches Of One-Off Mid-Engined Aston Martin

Teaser Sketches Of One-Off Mid-Engined Aston Martin test 1-1

So often, rare supercar designers focus so intently on aerodynamics and performance that they forget a simple truth: If one is going to spend a million dollars on a car, its aesthetics should be as premium and original as its engineering and performance. So many high-end supercars show gaudy numbers and equally gaudy looks.

When I first saw the Zenvo ST1, designed by HBH, I thought it was a different kind of supercar. Car fanatics and casual observers could argue whether its attractive or ugly ad naseum, but one thing is clear: It doesn't look like any other car on the road. And HBH's next venture looks to be equally original. The Danish firm released a few teaser sketches of its upcoming mid-engined Aston Martin one-off last week, and it looks like it should be both original and sexy.

Collect Sobbing Tissues In Advance, The Next Gen Brabus E 800 Cabriolet

Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet test 2

Brabus seems to push the bounds of automotive excellence every now and again. Not surprisingly, this year’s super mod of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is no exception. What is surprising, however, is how unbelievably awesome this next gen Brabus really is. The Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet begins as a pedestrian Mercedes E-Class Convertible. Then something nearly magical happens… a bi-turbo 6.3 liter V12 engine falls from the sky to deliver a scintillating 788 horsepower and an electronically limited 811 lb.-ft. of torque. Yes, that’s limited.

As you can imagine, this car isn’t for the faint of heart or wallet. Pricing starts at $681,200. In exchange for so much cash, drivers can pull 3.7 second 0-60 mph times—and, of course, 0-185 mph in just over 23 seconds. Assuming you can manage to maintain control, the Brabus 800 E will run out of juice around 231 mph.

Official Word: V12 Zagato On Sale And Overpriced test 1-1

Well, it's really no surprise at this point, but the Aston Martin V-12 Zagato is officially headed to production. Aston made the announcement earlier this week and provided pricing and availability information for the limited edition, V-12-Vantage-based creation.

Joss JP1 Supercar Gets A Little More Official

Joss JP1 Supercar Gets A Little More Official test 1-1

One day, if I ever became incredibly rich, I'm going to take a supercar tour of the world. It seems like every major country has a supercar these days, and it would be fun to test them one by one to see which nationality offers the best combination of power, speed, handling, engineering, design, comfort, etc. Then I'd purchase my self-tested winner (or maybe winners) and have it shipped back here to my massive garage in the U.S.

That tour will soon have to include a stop down under, because he Joss JP1 (aka Australia's supercar) is moving closer to production. A prototype version was recently shown at the Australian International Motor Show.

Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition

Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition test 2

After taking home a victory at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans race, Audi decided that the thrill of victory just wasn't big enough. Instead, it needed a full-on car to encapsulate the moment. That car is the all-new R8 V8 Limited Edition.

The car gets a touch of racing blood in the form of the GT-inspired 19-inch alloy wheels. Those titanium-look wheels are offset by bright red brake calipers and the car itself can be painted in exclusive bare-metal-look gray or any standard R8 color.

Aston To Build V12 Zagato test 1-1

It appears the cat is out of the bag in terms of Aston Martin V12 Zagato production. According toAutocar, the Zagato was listed on the company's website last week, along with a little disclaimer: "Only a strictly limited run of road going cars will be built." So it looks like Aston is following through on its sexy concept.

Aston Martin AMV12 Design Study

Aston Martin AMV12 Design Study test 1-1

A couple weeks ago, we got a teaser look at an upcoming mid-engined Aston Martin one-off from Danish HBH (the company behind the Zenvo ST1). The car will basically be a Vantage V-12 with the engine pushed behind the seats. HBH hopes to have its car ready by next year, and in the meantime, we have what appears to be a mid-engined Aston Martin design study to give us a feel for what a little restructuring might look like.

Coolest (Most Sadistic?) Dad Ever Teaches Son to Drive In A Ferrari 458

Coolest (Most Sadistic?) Dad Ever Teaches Son to Drive In A Ferrari 458 test 1-1

I don't know whether I'd be excited or terrified if my father had handed me the keys to a Ferrari when taking me for my first on-road driving lesson. I can just imagine wrapping my sweaty, 16-year-old hands around that intimidating, controls-lined steering wheel, taking a big gulp and trying to get the courage to start up the rumbling V-8 engine. I suppose if it was at a point where I'd developed a little confidence, I would have loved it. Otherwise, it would have been a horrifying moment.

Video: Merc-McLaren Hits 93 MPH In Parking Garage

Mercedes-McLaren SLR' test 2

You know what you see way too much of in parking garages? Boring, white, small and mid-sized cars parked neatly, row by row. You know what you don't see nearly enough of in parking garages? Empty spaces during key times, for one, but also Mercedes-McLaren SLR's hitting nearly 100 on the speedometer. And if you don't see enough standard SLRs doing that, you certainly don't see enough one-of-four Brabus-tuned SLR Roadsters doing it.

Here's your chance to turn the tides.
