Hennessey Unveils Insane 600hp Replacement for the F-150 Raptor test 1-1

When John Hennessey gets ahold of a vehicle, things tend to get a bit crazy (Remember the 270 mph Lotus Exige that was dubbed the Venom GT?). Blowers get bolted on, horsepower goes through the roof, and ordinarly fast cars are transformed into roadgoing missiles. Lucky for us, Capt. Overkill has created yet another Frankenmobile. And this one’s designed to fill in for the yet-to-be-released 2016 Ford F-150 Raptor…

Scion Previews iM Hatchback Concept test 1-1

Following the prior release of several veiled teaser images, Scion has officially taken the shroud of secrecy off its L.A.-bound iM concept which will make its formal debut at the 2014 L.A. Auto Show next week. The concept should a compelling preview of what could be a replacement for the ill-fated and equally ill-conceived Scion XD hatchback (which was, in turn, a replacement for the equally mediocre and unsuccessful Scion xA).

The Most Interesting Toyota Camry...Ever!! test 1-1

The words "wow" and "holy crap", have never been used to describe a Toyota Camry. This silently-snooty transportation device has mastered mediocrity and elevated adequacy to an art form. They sell like hotcakes because everybodyknows that you “can’t go wrong with a Camry”. But Toyota’s CEO recently decreed that forthcoming cars bearing his family name, be injected with some excitement. And this 2015 Toyota Camry has just annihilated our perception of the most boring car on earth.

VIDEO: Drool as Ferrari test driver hoons 458 Italia around test track test 1-1

In the car world, being a Ferrari test driver has got to be the best job in the world. “Heya, Luigi, take’a this 458 out an see’a if it breaks’a”. So you tear out of the factory, bound for Ferrari’s private 1.9-mile test track outside of Maranello. Then you bomb the freshly built supercar around Fiorano’s curves and straightaways until something goes ’Bam!’. Such is the life of the lucky bastard in this video. And you get to watch as he beats the livin' hell out of a Giallo Modena yellow 458. Turn your speakers up so you can hear that V8 wail.

BMW Congratulates Itself With M4 DTM Champion Edition test 1-1

The DTM Touring Car Series is like German NASCAR. Devoted fans tune in to watch a bunch of wild-haired pretty boys try to become champion as they race Mercedes, Audis, and BMWs around tracks like the Nurburgring and Hockenheim. After a 20-year absence, BMW re-entered the series in 2012, and they’ve already cleaned up with an impressive string of victories. To celebrate their success, BMW created a special edition of the 2015 BMW M4. And it’s as gaudy as you would expect.

Nitrous Oxide for Vehicle Use: Myth vs. Reality test 1-1

Every driver wants something different from his or her vehicle. Some motorists prize economy above all. Other value looks or status. And, for many car owners, performance is their passion. This is not simply speed, but the ability to accelerate quickly, turn corners sharply, and feel that exhilarating rush that comes from driving a nimble, ultra-responsive ride.

Ford Locks It Down

Ford Locks It Down test 1-1

More often than not, if you are in a group of gearheads at a local car show, track, parking lot, driveway, wherever, you will inevitably hear the following: "Oh, they (meaning the parent company of the car in question) were so stupid for doing XYZ to our cars." Every 19-year-old with a set of keys and that insatiable itch to speed has thought that they were at, one point or another, smarter than the company that built the car they are driving.

It's Always a Good Time to Visit Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Indy Hall of Fame test 2

The Indianapolis 500 is an almost mythical event that holds a great deal of importance in the American psyche. It is like the Super Bowl of automobile racing, with the event taking place on the hallowed grounds of Indianapolis Motor Speedway in our nation's heartland. If you win a car race, that's good. If you win the Indianapolis 500, you are a made man (or woman) forever.
