Corvette To Introduce the 2015 Z06 in Detroit test 1-1

Chevy plans to carry its 2013 barrage of sports and muscle cars at American auto shows into 2014. It all started at the 2013 North American International Auto Show with the debut of the highly anticipated C7 Corvette Stingray. The Corvette hard-top was officially joined by a convertible at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show a couple months later. Chevy turned its attention to the Camaro—specifically the Z/28—at the New York Auto Show, and it showed some tricked-out versions of both the Corvette and Camaro at the recent SEMA Show. Now it's turning its attention to 2014, where it will start off the year with yet another big Corvette debut, showing the 2015 Corvette Z06 package in Detroit.

Honda Rewards: Buy My Car; Help Me Get a Reward

Honda Rewards: Buy My Car; Help Me Get a Reward test 1-1

Honda doesn’t do big rebates. Maybe they don’t feel they are necessary for such a major brand. Plenty of people buy Honda’s vehicles without an incentive. This year they’ve changed the game plan, but that may not affect car buyers. The money is there, but it is up to dealerships to decide what to do with it.

Unlocking Computer Technology In Our Vehicles test 2

With all the new computer technology in our vehicles driving has never been safer, right? I mean, our cars can see other cars on the road and help us avoid accidents we didn’t even see coming. They can brake for us, keep us in our lane, and keep us from backing over anything or anyone. Soon there will be those automotive wonders that drive all by themselves. So it’s all tidy, safe, and secure. Maybe not.

24 Volt Ultimate Drifting Machine! [VIDEO] test 1-1

If you want to make your kids happy this Christmas, what needs to be under the tree? According to the 2013 Hot Toys List there must be an Xbox One, an Elmo doll, and a car. Not just any car though. This one is bright red, about as weighty as a lawnmower, is one wheelbarrow-wheel drive, and can drift “as seen on TV”.

A Blast from the Past

A Blast from the Past test 1-1

It looks like something out of an old movie. You can picture the driver in goggles and a scarf fluttering in the wind. And some of those cool driving gloves. If you drive one, you will see the need for these fancy duds.

What does the serious Shelby collector do once he’s scratched all the usual itches? Cobras? You’ve got at least one each of the 260s, 289s, 427s, and 428s. Mustangs? You’ve got a garage full of G.T. 350s of every stripe (including at least one real-deal “R”) and a field full of G.T. 500s, open and shut, “KR” and not. Heck, you’ve even got the Holy Grail of Shelbys in your stable, a one-of-nearly-none Cobra Daytona Coupe.

Well, my friend, as Mecum’s recent auction in Anaheim shows, there’s a whole ‘nother volume in the Encyclopedia of Shelby, and—if you act right now—you can build yet another collection of that wily Texan’s wares for a relative song.

Well, that, and a MUCH bigger building…

Subaru has gone on quite a concept spree this November. It showed the LEVORG concept and a couple others in Tokyo, and now it introduced the Legacy concept at the LA Auto Show. The Legacy Concept celebrates both past and present, recognizing the model's 25th anniversary while providing a glimpse at a future styling direction.

D.A.R.V: Baby Steps Towards the Future

D.A.R.V: Baby Steps Towards the Future test 1-1

Most car manufacturers are doing research to develop those futuristic cars that can drive themselves. We have a few already that monitor the road even while the driver is in control and they have the ability to take over in an emergency. Last week at the auto show in Los Angeles, Toyota gave us a step in between. It’s not a fully autonomous car but it does provide much more interaction than anything currently on the road. And it can interact with more than just the driver.

Coca-Cola Makes Ford Greener

Coca-Cola Makes Ford Greener test 1-1

I don’t know about where you live, but here in central Florida most of us have been issued special trash cans to be used with the new garbage trucks. They have special handles that allow the truck to pick them up without human intervention. And they are huge. At least compared to the one we used to have. I remember thinking when we got it that we would never fill it up in a week. I was wrong. I am amazed at the amount of garbage we can produce. On a global scale it’s a problem. We simply don’t have room for all the trash human beings generate. So we recycle what we can. But what can you really do with all those plastic bottles, besides make new plastic bottles?

New Idea to Control Drunk Drivers

New Idea to Control Drunk Drivers test 1-1

Did you know that between 2006 and 2011 the number of traffic fatalities involving alcohol declined consistently? Were we more responsible? Were we not driving drunk? Or were we just lucky? We may never know but the trend is over. Intoxicated drivers killed more 4.6% more people in 2012 than in 2011. And it appears the numbers will continue to rise.
