Cadillac unveils the farewell edition CTS-V Coupe test 1-1

When Cadillac launched its CTS-V back in 2004, everyone thought they were mad. But hindsight has provided a clearer view of their brilliance. Cramming a massively overpowered engine into a car that was designed on an Etch-a-Sketch was a good idea. Today's CTS-V(eeery fast) is a formidable competitor to performance stalwarts like the BMW M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG. The coupe version has few peers, save for an Audi RS and a $742k BMW M79 zDrive GrandSomething-or-other. But sadly it's about to wave goodbye, as the redesigned, sedan-only 2015 Cadillac CTS-V gets ready to launch. So let's have a look at the last 500 special edition CTS-V Coupes.

It appears that consumers and the government aren't the only ones that have issues with General Motors. The survey found that GM rates lowest on the list of customers the suppliers want to deal with.

Motorcyclist Death Decreasing in the United States test 1-1

In the United States, motorcyclist deaths decreased by seven percent in 2013, making it only the second time that’s happened since 1997. The drop may be due to the lack of the kind of weather that lures bikers out, rather than safer driving, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA).

Half-Empty or Half-Full?: It Isn't Just An Attitude Anymore

Half-Empty or Half-Full?: It Isn't Just An Attitude Anymore test 1-1

When I was young I bought used cars, generally from private individuals, out of necessity due to low funding for the project. It was always a risky business even with help from my father, who knew more about cars than I did. I knew there was bound to be something wrong with the car that the owner “forgot” to tell me. One vehicle had a faulty gas gauge and I ended up on the side of the road on the way home from the purchase. The gauge said I had half a tank.

Why EVs Haven't Sparked Interest in the US test 1-1

Back in 2007 and 2008 it appeared that the electric vehicle revolution was about to begin. With fuel prices rising with no end in sight and awareness of the effect of gas-powered engines also rising, President Obama predicted that there would be one million electric vehicles on the roadways of America by 2015. The US Department of Energy even paid out billions in low interest loans under the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Program. What happened to derail what many automakers saw as a necessary and fated shift in consumer purchasing? Actually, it was a combination of factors that include better technology and buyers’ disinclination to purchase unfamiliar engines.
