Mazda Teases New Mazda6

Mazda Teases New Mazda6 test 2

A few short months ago, Mazda provided a preview of the upcoming 2014 Mazda6 in the form of the Takeri concept. Mazda is moving toward the production-Mazda6 reveal at this fall's Paris Motor Show, and it has released the first teaser clip of the car.

While the teaser clip isn't nearly as interesting as a sexy concept like the Takeri, it affirms that at least part of the production Mazda6 will look a whole lot like the concept. The clip gives us a look at the driver's-left side of the front fascia, showing a grille and headlight that look quite Takeri. The grille is the same five-point design that we'd expect, and there's a similar chrome line connecting the grille to the headlamp.

Bentley EXP 9 F Gets New Photos And Footage (Video)

Bentley EXP 9 F test 2

Bentley's EXP 9 F SUV concept has been controversial, to say the least. At least that's the way it has seemed to be received in the western world - Bentley reportedly developed the car for China, so we'll assume they dig it over there. Whatever the case, it seems like Bentley is determined to offer an SUV, and since it's already done all the work on the EXP 9 F, we think they'll use a little, if not most, of the design from the concept in an eventual production model. In other words, get used to it because it's probably not going anywhere. Bentley helps break you in with some new photos and video.

The EXP 9 F is hot off its first U.K. public appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. According to at least one account, the Brits didn't like it much better than other Europeans, Americans and the general YouTube population.

That hasn't gotten Bentley down, however. Bentley reiterates its intent to build the fastest, most luxurious SUV in the world and shows the concept in some new video.

Renault Alpine 110-50 Concept Faces Its Predecessor test 2

A new Renault video features an intriguing competition among three generations of 'Alpine'. The youngest - the Alpine A110-50 - takes on the original Alpine A110 that it was designed in honor of, and both cars battle the very first "Alpine" i.e. the French Alps.

Renault built the Alpine A110-50 in celebration of the A110 Berlinette's 50th anniversary. It introduced the concept in the spring at the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix. The concept reinterprets the classic A110 in a more modern way, blending in some of Renault's latest design language originally seen on the DeZir concept.

Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Runs Down A Golf Ball test 2

You know, when we declared 2012 the year of the air-land race, we had forgotten momentarily about the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster-meets-golf ball world record. It wasn't actually a race per se, but some racing was required for SLS driver David Coulthard to track down the golf ball and catch it mid-air. So it's yet another fine example of the great land-air competition of 2012.

We first heard about the Mercedes stunt last month. Only problem was, there wasn't any video to show you. Try as we did, you really can't tell the story of "world's farthest golf shot caught in a moving car" without an accompanying video clip.

Chrysler Launches 'Imported From Gotham City' Campaign test 2

After the success of its "Imported From Detroit" campaign, Chrysler is always eager to put a new spin on the theme. In recognition of the much anticipated The Dark Knight Rises film, the automaker has released a new ad campaign entitled "Imported From Gotham."

Gotham is the fictitious New York City-like metropolis setting of the Batman comics and movies, for anyone that hasn't been paying attention to decades of Batman movies, television shows and comic books. In a garage deep in the heart of the city, a team of mechanics outfits a Chrysler 300 for sharp vigilante justice.

Ford Heightens Media Blitz With Automated Driving

Traffic Jam Assist test 2

We’ve seen a lot of fireworks shooting from the Ford media engine lately – which seems appropriate with the Fourth of July looming – especially with regards to new vehicle technologies. But apparently the movers and shakers at Ford have been up to more than just EcoTech engines, KeyFree, and improvements to the company’s lagging MyFord Touch.

Ford is in the midst of developing two next-generation systems that could improve or eliminate some of the most despised driving obstacles: traffic jams and reverse perpendicular parking.

Cadillac ATS, Compact Luxury Sedan 'Lite'

Cadillac ATS Graphic test 2

Every few years we get a renovated soda brand which seemingly defies our perceptions of what makes soda so freaking delicious. Case in point: Coke Zero, all of the taste, none of the calories (or some such jingle). But Cadillac’s incoming 2013 ATS model is much more than just a gussied up pig with new lipstick.

Instead, the ATS will be Cadillac’s second market contender, after the CTS V-Series, that will challenge a powerhouse segment – flooded with the likes of the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4.

And, just before the ATS hits the showroom floor, the slugmatch has officially begun. Cadillac released a competitive comparison graphic showcasing the ATS’s weight saving, and thus performance, specs.

Marchionne Earns Title 'Michiganian Of The Year'

Sergio Marchionne test 2

Companies use buzzwords like ‘dynamic’ and ‘magnanimous’ to define popular CEOs. But the tide of corporate and consumer perception can swiftly turn on these elevated citizens, for CEOs are – in many cases – public figures. One mistake and a seasoned CEO can go from hero to zero in a matter of minutes.

After Chrysler’s incredible bounce back in 2011 and staggering first quarter results in 2012, we can safely say that Sergio Marchionne has earned his keep as well as a long list of positive descriptors. And financial results aside, Marchionne has contributed to the reputation and enlivened spirit of Detroit in a big way.

So much so that The Detroit News has named the Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO ‘Michiganian of the Year’ for 2012.

Ford KeyFree Lightens Password Log-on Load

Ford KeyFree test 2

The rumor mill is turning once more, spinning a sci-fi thriller which might affect the very fabric of our everyday lives. Ford’s KeyFree technology, commonly known for automatic door locking/unlocking and – everyone’s favorite gimmick – push-to-start ignitions, has popped up on a French Vimeo site with an altogether new software update.

So far, all we know is that a new version of Ford’s KeyFree system is coming soon. And this time, multiple password storage and automatic log-on will be the name of the game.

Users of the Ford KeyFree app will be able to save usernames and passwords for social media, email, internet shopping, and the like. Upon entering a device’s Bluetooth range, connected computers will automatically log on to each individual account.

Glorious V-12 Notes And Ferrari F12 Drifting (Video)

Glorious V-12 Notes And Ferrari F12 Drifting (Video) test 2

It was a few months ago that we first became acquainted with the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Yet, we feel like we barely know the latest horse to prance out of Maranello. A new video changes all that, giving us some much needed one on one time with the new coupe.

Taken by infamous supercar footage hound Marchettino, the short video shows the F12 doing some driving on Ferrari's Fiorano Circuit. As much as we enjoy the fly-bys and drifting, this video could be enjoyed just as thoroughly with our eyes closed. The beautifully harmonic tone of the V-12 is really what makes the whole scene.

Hyundai Genesis Races An Arrow (Video)

Hyundai Genesis Races An Arrow test 2

We'd think that the Hyundai Genesis (especially the 3.8-liter V-6 model) would be ill-equipped to race an F16 fighter. It might be able to handle a skydiver, but Hyundai thought that a soaring arrow would be a better fit. The automaker put the sports coupe to the test against a masterfully aimed projectile.

We're calling it now: 2012 is the year of the air-land race. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but every time we turn around, there's a new odd-ball race between a sports car and some type of stereotypically speedy air vessel.

In the latest such battle, Hyundai asks the question: "Can a car go faster than an arrow." While I never actually thought about it and couldn't care less in the long run, the manufactured question certainly has me wondering. Can it? It's safe to assume that since Hyundai made a whole video around it, it can. The video is part of Hyundai's New Thinking, New Possibilities campaign.
