BMW introduced the Vision ConnectedDrive concept at last year's Geneva Motor Show. While the concept was a radical roadster that was quite the sight to see, it was primarily about technology, not styling. The concept previewed a host of next-generation technological systems designed to connect the driver to the vehicle and road around him.

BMW has taken the next step in advertising its ConnectedDrive suite. It has released a series of fun, humorous commercials that showcase some of the technologies.

 After Clint Eastwood’s “Halftime in America” spot aired, Fox News fans everywhere collectively cringed in discomfort – well except in the UK and Canada, where Fox is banned. Many spectators were left inspired, but perhaps just as many felt confused by Eastwood’s supposed Chrysler endorsement. In our time of political jockeying and accepted corporate intertwining with the government, people raised questions about the advertisement’s intended goal. Was Chrysler selling cars or Obama’s 2012 candidacy?

As has become something of a norm in the United States, we feel compelled to be distracted or laugh at our present situation, much like the Roman Empire’s emphasis on satire or overly-aggressive sporting events. Which is what makes SNL so ridiculously entertaining: the wackier our society gets, the more material there is to comment on. Take the music videos of the 1990s and early 2000s, for example. These look like the inspirational blueprint for SNL’s vastly popular Lonely Island series. And Clint Eastwood’s original spot provides the perfect backdrop for a little SNLification. Nothing says ‘spoof’ like an aging gunslinger giving a pep talk.

Toyota has been busy producing footage and commercials of its new GT 86/Scion FR-S. The videos we actually get to see are smooth, aesthetic footage that highlight Toyota's sporty new cars. But it's not always so smooth behind the scenes. A new video shows one unexpected blooper that surely caused the director to yell "Cutttttt!!!"

During the video shoot, professional driver Ken Gushi is surprised by a sudden flash of fast, spry deer. The deer leaps right out into the road and hops across just inches from the FR-S' bumper. Gushi appears to swerve ever so slightly but is admirably unrattled and steady at the wheel.

Nissan whipped the cloth off the all-new 2013 370Z sports coupe the day before the Chicago Auto Show. The new car isn't radically updated, but it does receive some minor styling and options changes.

The main revision to the 2013 Z is the updated front fascia defined by vertical LED daytime running lamps. A red reflector on the rear of the car replaces a black center cover on the current model. Nissan added two new color options - Magma Red and Midnight Blue.

Honda sure is dedicated to its new NSX concept. Last Sunday, the automaker released its first ever Acura Super Bowl commercial for a concept that won't even hit the market for three years. Now it's put together an 8-minute video showcasing the model's past and present.

If you're an NSX fan, this is your lucky day. Honda's video is full of everything that you just have to love: lots of track footage of the original NSX, grinding engine notes, NSX racers, shots of the V-TEC engine, slow motion, commercial-like footage, driving footage of the new NSX concept, a closer look at the new NSX's powertrain, and more.

Models have long been an everyday part of the automotive industry, helping to catch our attention on television, in print ads, on magazine covers and on auto show floors. While beautiful hard bodies work great as hood ornaments of luscious supercars, a new Ram Trucks teaser video shows why they don't work as well for more pedestrian vehicles.

Bikini supermodels are quite analogous with supercars. Both are some of the most beautiful, mesmerizing specimens in their fields (human beings and automobiles, respectively). Bikini models and trucks? Well that had better be a damn fine truck if it's going to stand out against those voluptuous curves.

Case in point: The new teaser video from Ram Trucks, which you can view below. The video is a teaser for a Ram debut at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show. The debut is known simply as "The Dark Side," which we'll assume means some type of blacked-out truck.

Pininfarina has been teasing the Cambiano concept for the past several weeks. The concept will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, and in anticipation of that debut, Pininfarina has provided the best look yet this week in a new teaser video.

The new video still doesn't reveal the entire Cambiano but does take us from one close up to the next, showing more clearly that the Cambiano is destined to be one of the sexier concepts of the Geneva Motor Show.

After a couple of months of bad publicity, GM will look to rally around the Chevy Volt and work on improving its image beginning on Super Bowl Sunday. A new Volt ad was among five Chevy ads that GM planned for the game.

The Chevy Volt has had a rough couple of months. In November, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened an investigation on a potential battery-fire issue - about the last thing the Volt or any electric powered car needs. Just when it looked like Chevy had solved the problem to the NHTSA's satisfaction, Congress decided that the government's vehicular safety agency might have been negligent in its duties and opened up hearings on the Volt and NHTSA's handling of the issue. Some harsh quotes made headlines, and the Chevy's Volt image has been in rapid spiral mode for weeks.

Last year Chrysler unveiled the “Imported from Detroit” ad campaign and the world took notice. From snazzy apparel to enthusiastic newspaper headlines and everything in between, Chrysler’s slogan struck a nerve with just about anyone who would listen – even garnering an Emmy.

And this year’s Super Bowl commercial looks to be no different…except for one big change. This time Eminem will make way for the man, myth, and legend: Clint Eastwood.

2012 will be the second year in a row that Chrysler airs a full two minute Super Bowl commercial, which has apparently become something of a growing trend among companies. The traditional 30 second advertising spot has been Norrised (a la Chuck) in favor of more expensive, entertaining, and ultimately effective campaigns which now have plenty of time to reference a happy animal, show an attractive person, make a joke, and concomitantly sell a product.

Puppy dogs and hyper-excited aliens are cute - heck, even sand-bearing elves make us crack a smile - but if you really want to win the hearts and minds of America's red-blooded football fan, there's really only one way to do it: gorgeous women. There's a reason that sports teams have cheerleaders.

That's the direction that Kia takes with its Optima Super Bowl commercial, featuring Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima - one of the most lusted after women in the world - and a bevy of bikini models. To round out 60 seconds of sheer, testosterone-fueled excitement, Kia also throws in some hard rock courtesy of Motley Crue, championship bull rider Judd Leffew and UFC fighting legend Chuck Liddell.

The 16-second teaser clip released last week was basically a long, slow motion shot of Lima, making it look even more sexy than the actual commercial. In the actual ad, Lima plays but a supporting role in a greater story that's based around the vastly different psyches of men and women. The "Sandman" comes in to cast sweet dreams upon a soundly sleeping woman but accidentally spills some of his dream dust on her husband. What ensues is two very different versions of "sweet dreams."
