On: Wed, Feb 16, 2011 at 12:26PM | By: Chris Weiss

Etherea Concept test 2

Well, that was fast. About a week after it teased an unnamed Geneva concept, Infiniti released full picture details of the car. And as was rumored, it's called the Etherea and takes off on the stylish Essence concept that Infiniti presented in 2009.

Renault Previews Outlandish Crossover Concept

Renault Previews Outlandish Crossover Concept test 1-1

There are those concepts that are basically just slightly rough versions of actual production cars. And then there are concepts that are so odd-looking, you know that nothing even closely resembling them will ever actually roll on highways. Renault's new, Geneva-bound Captur concept is definitely in the latter category. It's not as wild-looking as some concepts, but certain cartoonish features let you know that Renault won't be pumping out a high-volume production model based on this one.

Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition To Debut In Geneva test 1-1

If you've been following the Lexus LFA, you might think that Lexus' special-edition, 50-run Nurburgring package made its public debut sometime last year. But if you've really been following the LFA closely, then you know that while Lexus announced the package and released a few photos nearly a year ago, it never actually brought the Nurburgring-spec LFA to an auto show for an official debut. Well, the company is finally making up for that, in announcing that the 2011 Geneva Motor Show will mark the official public debut of the suped-up special edition. Prepare to see some live pictures of the LFA under the intense lights of the showroom floor.

Adventure Awaits At The Overland Expo

OX 2011 test 2

Prepare to be covered in dust and mud whilst shaking with sheer anticipation. The 2011 Overland Expo is set to go down April 1-3 in Amado, Arizona. For the vast majority of us, who have no clue where that is, Amado is a small desert town 30 minutes south of Tucson along Interstate 19. For those of us who believe in true navigation, Amado is at latitude/longitude: 31.70 N/111.07 W, elevation 3090 feet. The Expo is an international event that educates and inspires people to get out and explore the world by bike or other vehicles. OX, as attendees affectionately call it, includes an adventure vehicle exhibition, workshops, classes, roundtable programs, and an exciting travel film festival. If you’re into exploring the unknown, cutting-edge auto technology, artsy films, camping, or even happy hour you will enjoy this event.

De Tomaso Is Back, Teases Geneva Launch

De Tomaso test 2

It looks like things remain on track for the De Tomaso Geneva comeback. In December, we heard word that De Tomaso was on track to bring an all new four-door to the Geneva Motor Show. While we were enthused to hear this news, we took it like you have to take any news concerning the comeback of a once-great, bankrupted, on-the-way-back car company. "We'll believe it when we see it" was the cliched stance that we had no choice but to take.

Fortunately, it looks likely that we will indeed be seeing it. De Tomaso will be presenting its first car in Geneva and has provided teaser images of the car.

Another Stunning BMW Concept Launching Under Name "Vision"

BMW Concept Vision test 2

BMW will debut a new roadster concept at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next month. And the pictures tell us that it's going to be as stylish as its Vision EfficientDynamics concept that originally launched at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, and is now on the way to production. More than just a way to build buzz around Bimmer, the Vision ConnectedDrive concept will preview new, in-vehicle technology systems that will make it to production models like the Vision Ed and MegaCity EV. The concept also introduces new design language, which will also make it to the production line.

Infiniti Teases Mercedes-Powered Coupe Concept test 1-1

Infiniti has teased a new concept it will debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Though Infiniti has not supplied an official name for the car, indications are it may be called "Etheria," and will take some styling cues from the curvy Essence concept that Infiniti showed at the 2009 Geneva show.

2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1: Maniacal Muscle

2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 test 2

For Corvettes, there's the ZR1. And for Camaros, there's the ZL1. At least, there is now. Chevy introduced the 550-hp, performance-optimized Camaro at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show this week, calling it the "fastest, most technologically advanced Camaro ever." Needless to say, we're excited.

Ferrari Releases New Pictures of FF

Ferrari Releases New Pictures of FF test 1-1

Ferrari introduced the 612-replacing FF concept last month. At the time, it released a few rather boring, unflattering studio shots of the car: one head-on front-end shot, one head-on rear shot, and one directly from the side. They definitely weren't the most intriguing shots, especially not if you prefer to see cars getting down and dirty on the track or street.

Well, this week Ferrari took the opportunity to right that wrong. It released a series of action shots that highlight the FF's four-wheel-drive capabilities. A few are of a rough prototype version of the car and a few are of the polished, Ferrari-red model.

Lamborghini Releases Aventador Teaser Pic

Lamborghini Releases Aventador Teaser Pic test 1-1

In this day and age of obsessive paparazzi and real-time internet updates, it seems like carmakers are a step behind. First, we had to humor Pagani with its not-so-gripping teaser videos, while spy shots—including scanned magazine pages of the full Huayra—were hitting the Web, and now we have to do the same for the other big Geneva supercar debut: the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Lamborghini has released its own "spy" teaser photo that really doesn't show us any more than the dozens of other spy shots we've already seen.

Alfa Romeo To Introduce Small, Sporty "4C GTA" in Geneva

Alfa Romeo To Introduce Small, Sporty "4C GTA" in Geneva test 1-1

The 450-hp 8C Competizione was a truly beautiful, exotic car. But with a limited, 500-model production, it didn't exactly help keep Alfa's head above water during its production run in 2007/2008. Alfa wasn't earning a profit then and it's not earning a profit now. And in the midst of constant sale rumors, the Italian automaker needs a new game plan.

Rumors indicate that part of Alfa's new game plan will look a lot like the 8C, only smaller and much less expensive. The Italian marquee is reportedly planning on bringing a 4C GTA concept to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
