Dodge continues to remind us of the muscle cars that were introduced in the late 1960s-early 1970s with the new special limited-edition Dodge Challenger SRT8 featuring exclusive Stinger Yellow exterior and interior appointments. This sort of thing works because when these cars finally become collectors’ items, they'll be worth more.
“The Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket adds another piece of performance car nostalgia to our rear-drive muscle coupe lineup in 2012,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO—SRT Brand and Motorsports. “The Stinger Yellow paint and interior accents speak directly to the performance enthusiast who appreciates a memorable and collectible color that helps deliver even more excitement and exclusivity.”
The Chrysler Group’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) team announced on November 9 an exclusive production run of special-edition 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket models featuring Stinger Yellow exterior paint and interior appointments.

Just today, Chevrolet debuted a worldwide 'show' version of the company’s highly anticipated all-new TrailBlazer SUV at the Dubai International Motor Show. Starting with Thailand in early 2012, Chevy plans to sell TrailBlazers globally. The vehicle features seven seats which are capable of folding flat, a body-on-frame SUV with the ride comfort and fuel efficiency of a crossover, and chassis meant to handle serious off-road conditions or city driving—if you’re into that thing.
But if you’re also thinking the TrailBlazer looks somewhat familiar, your powers of perception are right on. The latest Chevrolet Colorado shares similar DNA, design cues, and both vehicles were built in tandem. From all angles, the TrailBlazer looks sophisticated, aggressive and capable—a sort of physical manifestation of what GM intends this SUV do be.

In a move that demonstrates how diverse and large the global auto market is becoming, Jaguar Land Rover has decided to attend the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo in favor of the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The shows almost completely coincide, with New Delhi running from January 7th to the 11th and Detroit running from the 9th to the 22nd. While the U.S. was once the clear leader in auto sales, other nations are catching up and even surpassing it.
Jaguar said that its decision was a strategic way of covering more global ground. Because it will show all of its latest concepts and cars at the LA Auto Show this month, it won't have anything new to show in Detroit. So instead of just parading the same wares around the U.S. once again, Jaguar Land Rover will bring them to a different market.

Fiat officially returned to the US market earlier this year with the launch of the 500. While sales haven't been particularly big, the 500 has made a stir, thanks to a high-profile ad campaign with Jennifer Lopez and a few mentions in "best of" lists.
One of the next Fiats on the way to the US is the 500 Abarth, the 500's performance variant. The company will show this model at the 2011 LA Auto Show later this month.

This week is typically when the sports world welcomes back the NBA season. But this year, thanks to greed and complete negotiation failure, the world doesn't have an NBA season. And it might not anytime soon.
It wasn't that long ago that things were normal in the NBA. In fact, it was just a couple of months ago. In addition to watching an overstacked, over-hyped Miami team lose to the Dallas Mavericks in the finals, one of the biggest highlights of the 2010-11 season was dunk machine Blake Griffin. From winning the slam dunk contest to being a regular on highlight clips, the young Griffin added some serious energy and excitement to the NBA.
Kia is recognizing Griffin's contributions via a special edition Optima.

Well, here's a slight surprise. After pictures purporting to be the production Toyota FT-86 leaked last week, I was expecting Toyota to introduce the car rather quickly before any more damage could be done. Instead, more damage was done in terms of leaked specs, and Subaru actually beat Toyota to the punch in unveiling its version of the same car.
Actually, Subaru is just now catching up with Toyota because this BRZ STI is actually the concept version, which it will show in the metal at the LA Auto Show. But with mere weeks separating the LA Auto Show from the Tokyo Motor Show, where both Subaru and Toyota will officially debut their respective production coupes, the BRZ concept should be a spitting image of the production model.

BMW will host a special sneak-preview event to unveil for the first time in North America what it considers to be the cars of the future: the BMW i3 and BMW i8 concept vehicles. These concepts represent the first purpose-built electric and electric-hybrid vehicles to be made primarily of carbon fiber when they become available in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The unveiling will take place in New York City on Wednesday, November 9th at 11 AM (EST) at Center 548 (548 West 22nd Street between 10th & 11th Avenues).

At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, Land Rover debuted the DC100 and DC100 Sport concepts, providing a first look at the direction it was taking with its next Defender. While the concept will eventually replace the Defender in 2015, Land Rover admitted that the Frankfurt DC100 was just the first step in a long development process.
The next step will come at the LA Auto Show, which begins in about two weeks. Land Rover will show an updated DC100 concept at the show.

Bond fanatics will now have a sudden change in holiday plans this year. EON Productions (the new movie house propagating Bond films) and the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, England have announced a joint-effort to open a ‘Bond In Motion’ exhibit set to debut January 18, 2012.
While the National Motor Museum is already an impressive collection, with over 250 historically and mechanically significant vehicles, this latest announcement of a Bond-themed exhibit will add an additional 50 iconic Bond transports from 50 years of silver screen glory. And, by the way, we aren’t just talking about super lux sports cars—the exhibit will also feature boats, bikes, sleds, jets, and a few surprises, too.

Mazda has released its first picture of the upcoming Takeri concept. Not to be confused with the sporty Shinari concept (which could rhyme depending upon how you're reading the names in your head), the Takeri is a mid-sized concept that previews the next-generation Mazda6. It will make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next month.

Honda has two new production vehicle debuts in store for the 2011 LA Auto Show, both of which are quite interesting in their own right. The company announced that it will debut the 2013 Fit EV, Honda's first fully electric car, and the 2012 CR-V at the show.
The Fit EV is definitely the more interesting of the two from where I'm sitting. It isn't exactly revolutionary, and specs-wise actually falls below the Nissan Leaf and Ford Focus EV, but it will provide another electric-car option and should be attractive to Honda customers already driving a Fit or CR-Z hybrid. The car combines the Fit's layout with a three-mode driving system used on the CR-Z. It offers an EPA-estimated range of 70 miles (just below the Leaf's EPA-rated 73 miles) and a top speed around 90 mph.
