Chevy Builds A Life-Sized Camaro Hot Wheels Car test 2

Chevy is making boys' dreams reality at this year's SEMA Show. The automaker has revealed the Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in Las Vegas. Unlike most of the crazy one-offs and concepts at SEMA, the Hot Wheels-inspired Camaro will be offered for sale in limited numbers.

"Millions of us grew up playing with Hot Wheels," said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. "Offering a special production model of the Camaro Hot Wheels is an opportunity to bring those memories to life, for kids of all ages."

Bugatti Thinking 1,600-HP, 288-MPH Veyron test 2

The Bugatti Veyron is already the fastest car in the world. It's also one of the most powerful and expensive. There's nary a bragging right left for the ultimate symbol of power and excess, but that isn't stopping Bugatti from developing an even more extreme version.

Automobile magazine reports that Bugatti is working on a 1,600-hp SuperVeyron. That's right - the car actually may be called the "SuperVeyron," not to be confused with the current Veyron Super Sport and its measly 1,200 ponies.

Lexus LF-LC Concept Looks Happy In Blue

Lexus LF-LC Concept Looks Happy In Blue test 2

We already knew the Lexus LF-LC was quite a looker, but a new coat of blue paint shows that it looks good in whatever it's wearing. Lexus debuted the LF-LC Blue concept at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show, keeping chatter alive about a concept sports car that might eventually see production.

Lexus debuted the original LF-LC - which looked mighty fine in red, too - at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, later hinting at the possibility of production. For the Australian show, Lexus covered the car in Opal Blue. Not that it needed an excuse for the luscious paint, but the color is actually linked to Australia by way of the semi-precious opal stone found in the Outback.

Mercedes Benz G55 AMG Goes Purple

Mercedes Benz G55 AMG Goes Purple test 2

When you look at the clean, sharp edges and punishing demeanor of the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG, the last thing you should be thinking is, "Boy, that sucker would look good in 'I Love You' purple." But the SEMA auto show is all about making a scene with loud colors and elaborate body kits, so that's how Wald International decided to go about its business.

The Wald Black Bison G55 was created in conjunction with Toyo Tires, Jonari and several other partners. What makes this "bison" stand out the most, especially if it were to ever see any actual off-road action, is its matte purple wrap.

Volkswagen Debuts Up!-based Taigun Small Crossover

On: Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 3:06PM | By: Chris Weiss

VolkswagenTaigun test 2

Small, rugged crossover seems to be the theme at the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show. Nissan showed the sub-Juke-sized EXTREM concept, and Volkswagen showed the Taigun concept, a small crossover concept that could become part of its New Small Family.

We had heard word that VW was considering a mid-sized crossover, but the Taigun is definitely not it. At 3,859 mm long, 1,728 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall, the Taigun is well smaller than the Tiguan, VW's current small crossover. Instead, this concept is the Up! crossover that we had heard rumor about. While it is compact overall, the car uses a long wheelbase that creates short overhangs and capable proportions.

Nissan Reveals EXTREM Concept Car

Nissan Reveals EXTREM Concept Car test 2

It may not exactly define its own genre, and it may not be all that "extreme," but the EXTREM concept is a pretty attractive small crossover that would look great in Nissan's line-up. Unfortunately, it doesn't plan to produce the car, and if it does, it's likely to be introduced to the Brazilian market first, and possibly only. It gives us a feel for what a sportier crossover of the future might look like.

Nissan sticks with its story about creating a new genre by calling the EXTREM an "urban compact sports car." Just one look at it, however, and you're probably thinking "restyled, sporty Juke." In fact, the EXTREM is nearly 11 inches shorter than the Juke. It's also significantly sportier and more attractive, in a more organic way than the Juke R or Nismo. Nissan uses a sloped roof and muscular body to create a sports-car look. The wraparound glass, LED head and tail lamps, and floating roof rails add extra distinction.

Lake Mirror Classic 2012: Part 1 test 2

We were there, DSLR cameras in hand. We're just now getting a chance to upload and rifle through the thousands of pictures.

They'll make their way to you, we promise! Until then here's a few quick camera phone shots to whet your appetite.

Chevy Teases Detroit-Bound C7 Corvette test 2

After letting rumors pile up for years, Chevy has provided a few basic details on the next-generation Corvette. The car will debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in January.

With the official debut still three months away, Chevy hasn't provided any real details that folks that follow such things want to know. It has, however, revealed the new Crossed Flags logo that will appear on the seventh-generation Corvette's hood.
