Kia concept test 2

For the average Joe and Jane, December is a time for hurried holiday preparations and family. For the auto industry, it's a time for finishing the sales year while looking ahead to the next. Automakers have been teasing new cars and concepts for next month's North American International Auto Show right and left. Instead of trying to keep up with the barrage one by one, we're rounding 'em up a few at a time. Here we have a trio of interesting, sporty Asian cars: a Kia 2+2 concept, a race-inspired Infiniti concept and a new Lexus F performance car.

Audi Gives a First Look at New E-Tron Crossover Concept test 1-1

Audi will use the upcoming 2014 North American International Auto Show to showcase a new two-door sports crossover design. It appears to be more of a styling exercise than a production-car preview, but the car does have appeal and versatility, so the future will tell.

Corvette To Introduce the 2015 Z06 in Detroit test 1-1

Chevy plans to carry its 2013 barrage of sports and muscle cars at American auto shows into 2014. It all started at the 2013 North American International Auto Show with the debut of the highly anticipated C7 Corvette Stingray. The Corvette hard-top was officially joined by a convertible at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show a couple months later. Chevy turned its attention to the Camaro—specifically the Z/28—at the New York Auto Show, and it showed some tricked-out versions of both the Corvette and Camaro at the recent SEMA Show. Now it's turning its attention to 2014, where it will start off the year with yet another big Corvette debut, showing the 2015 Corvette Z06 package in Detroit.

Nissan Reveals Radical BladeGlider Concept test 1-1

Next week, both the Tokyo and LA Auto Shows kick off. As such, we may as well just call this week "New Car/Concept Preview Week." One of the most radical concepts of either show is sure to be the BladeGlider concept from Nissan, a triangular 1 + 2 electric sports car that "shifts the engineering paradigm."

Confusion at the Car Show: A Lime Green Lemon?

Confusion at the Car Show: A Lime Green Lemon? test 1-1

Chrysler unveiled its latest 300 at SEMA in Las Vegas recently. The response was underwhelming, to say the least, but I’m a bit confused by the reports. I’ve been all over the internet looking for information and it seems to be conflicting to a disturbing degree.

The version shown in Las Vegas was lime green with chrome detailing. Maybe this choice was just to attract attention. The Chrysler website doesn’t offer this particular shade, sticking to more dignified colors like red, black, white, and silver.

Jaguar Putting a Lid on the F-TYPE

Jaguar Putting a Lid on the F-TYPE test 1-1

Following last year's introduction of the F-TYPE convertible, Jaguar plans to put a roof over prospective buyers' heads with the F-TYPE Coupe. It announced this week that it will reveal the car for the first time at the 2013 LA Auto Show later this month.

November promises to be a super-busy, ADD-inducing time for car fanatics. This week, it's all about wild tunes and bling as impressive customs make their debut at the SEMA Show and equally flashy supercars and exotics make their debut at the Dubai Motor Show. Later in the month, another pair of major auto shows will also take place simultaneously, as the Tokyo Motor Show and LA Auto Show fall on the same dates.

Subaru LEVORG Concept Previews New Model test 1-1

Subaru has released a teaser of the all-new LEVORG concept, which will debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. This concept car is no flashy one-and-done, but a preview of a new production model that the company will launch next year on the Japanese market. Subaru hasn't mentioned whether the car will come to other markets, but from the first look, we're hoping it does.

Mazda3 Gets Compressed Natural Gas Concept test 1-1

At the upcoming 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda will showcase the flexibility of the new Mazda3, highlighting its multiple powertrain options. Headlining this display will be a compressed natural gas concept called the SKYACTIV-CNG Concept. Will the Mazda3 be the next vehicle to get a compressed natural gas option?
