Shumacher Previews 458 Italia, Drooling Allowed

We've been seeing teasers for the Ferrari 458 Italia all over the Internet lately. The video below was the first 'offcial' teaser for the 458, released a few weeks ago. Since then, Ferrari has commissioned several videos that reveal further details about the F430 replacement. More videos are available after the jump.

We've been seeing teasers for the Ferrari 458 Italia all over the Internet lately. The video above was the frist 'offcial' teaser for the 458, released a few weeks ago. Since then, Ferrari has commissioned several videos that reveal further details about the F430 replacement.

Personally I found the F430 Scuderia to be a stunner, attractive from any angle. The original F430, not so much. The 458 seems to build on the 'sharper contours and edges' theme of the Scuderia, getting away from the Taurus-Jellybean styling of the F360 and 430. I like it, but not overwhelemed. It's one of those cars I want to see in the flesh before I pass judgement. I thought the Camaro was hideous, until I actually laid eyes on one in person. In pictures it appeared bloated and disproportionate. On the street, the Camaro is sized just right: the wheels aren't too large or too small (a feeling I had about all the wheel options I had previously viewed in pictures), and the front and rear styling are symetrical and menacing. Though the Ferrari is a far superior machine, I'm sure, the basic theory here still applies. The styling of the F458 isn't achingly beautiful in photographs and video, but in person it may be a traffic-stopper. Eh, all Ferraris stop traffic, but this one may cause accidents.
