Pagani Unveils Zonda HH

Known for its extremely rare, exotic supercars, Pagani has introduced a privately commissioned model known as the Zonda HH. The one-off convertible leaked last week and was officially revealed today. Mixing aspects of the Zonda Cinque and Zonda Roadster F, the shimmering, blue car has a beautiful look all its own.

The new Zonda HH was built for one lucky American customer who worked closely with Pagani to stay within budget and develop the ultimate customized dream car. While the customer remains anonymous, an Internet trail indicates that he's a car fanatic that also has a taste for Lamborghini. As nice as Lamborghinis are, they must pale in comparison to a one-off Zonda.

The Zonda HH is powered by the 7.2-liter Mercedes AMG V12 behind the Zonda Cinque. Instead of the paddle-controlled sequential six-speed found on the Cinque, the Zonda HH gets a six-speed manual transmission, as per the customer's preferences.

Outside, the new roadster shares much of the Zonda Roadster F's geometry and parts, but there is even more attention to cutting weight on the HH variant. Toward this end, the HH's pieces include a carbon-titanium tub, carbon-ceramic brakes and ceramic-titanium exhaust. While no official figure was given, previous rumors indicate a weight well below 3,000 lbs. at around 2,662 lbs. (1,210 kg). Unlike other Paganis, the Zonda HH does not include a rear-mounted air intake. The new model is all dressed up in its best Monterey Blue suit.

No performance figures were given, but looking at the performance of past Paganis indicates that the Zonda HH will provide plenty of exhilaration to its new owner. The Zonda Roadster F is one of the fastest cars of this generation, with a top speed of 215 mph pulled from its 650-hp Mercedes AMG V12 engine. The Cinque, a street-legal version of the Zonda R, includes a slightly upgraded 678-hp version of the V12 engine for a top speed of 217 mph. On its way to 217, the Zonda Cinque hits 62 mph in 3.4 seconds. If rumors are correct, the Zonda HH will weigh in at the same weight as the Cinque, and about 22 lbs. less than the Zonda Roadster F, so we can expect its performance figures to look Cinque-ish.

The new owner is expecting to receive his completed car by year-end. There's no indication of exactly how much he paid for it, but you can bet the number has seven figures, and might just start with a two. According to a blog post, he plans to drive the car rather than turning it into a private museum exhibit.
