Throughout The Car Industry
Dodge Will Offer 2017 Charger Daytona
There are two cities in the United States that probably come to your mind when you think about automobile racing. Indianapolis is certainly going to be on the tip of your tongue, and Daytona, Florida would probably come next. This city by the beach is a major attraction for lovers of every type of vehicle with wheels and an engine. Of course, there is the famous Daytona 500 that takes place during the month of February. This race is a true American tradition that started out in 1959. Though the big race is the ultimate highlight of the year in Daytona, there are numerous different transportation related events that attract visitors from near and far, including Daytona Bike Week.
If you are in a Daytona state of mind, you probably gravitate toward muscle cars when you are shopping for a ride of your own. In recent years, some of the American automakers have put a lot of effort into modern versions of classic muscle cars. One of these models is the Dodge Charger. The earliest version of the car was introduced as a concept vehicle back in 1964. In 1965, the Dodge Charger 273 package was offered in limited quantities as an option bundle for the Dodge Dart. The Charger became a stand-alone model when the 1966 batch of vehicles was introduced by Dodge, and the car remained in continuous production through the 1987 model year.
In 2005, Dodge decided to make a bold move and revive the Charger for the 2006 model year. That was the sixth generation for the Dodge Charger, and we are now in the seventh. With autumn just over the horizon, there is a lot of news coming out about the 2017 model year, and there is quite a buzz about a new Dodge Charger that will be offered. In 1969, the company built a number of Dodge Charger Daytona models, and they brought the concept back for one year in 2013. Now, Dodge has announced that there will be a 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona. There will be two different Daytona entrees on the menu: the Daytona, and the Daytona 392. The more powerful 392 comes with a 6.4-liter V8 under the hood. The design details and eye-catching graphics set the Daytona apart from the other Charger offerings.
You can get behind the wheel of a 2017 Charger Daytona for just over $41,000, which sounds like a reasonable price for a very special automobile with a good bit of history behind it.
