Elio Motors: 84 MPG for $6,800

Search engines have come a long way over the years, and, like a lot of things, these innovations are fueled by monetary motivations. Why do search engines exist in the first place? The answer is that they want to sell advertising, and they do it in very subtle ways.

The line is often blurred between a news story and an advertisement that is disguised as a news story. This is part of the equation, but, on top of that, they don't want to waste time floating ads in your face that you are not going to be interested in.

So, as you probably noticed, you are inundated with ads as you search the Internet, ads that are in line with your interests, or your shopping history.

In many cases, this can be kind of creepy, but, at the same time, you can be reminded about something that you are interested in buying. This happened to me recently, and it is worth sharing on this blog because it involves a very innovative automobile that is supposed to be available in 2016.

I don't know how long these search engines remember your proclivities, but I first caught a glimpse of this prototype at least a year ago, and I have been repeatedly reminded about it through pay-per-click ads recently. The car I'm talking about is being developed by Elio Motors.

This car is certainly going to catch your eye if you have never seen it. The Elio is a futuristic-looking three-wheel, two-seat vehicle. It can hold a driver and one passenger, and the passenger sits behind the driver, so the car is sleek and cigar-shaped.

Due to the engineering efficiency, the Elio is capable of an astounding 84 miles per gallon on the highway, and it reportedly averages 49 miles per gallon in the city.

According to information on the company website, the founder, Paul Elio, originally hatched the idea back in 2008. Like me and a lot of other people, he was disgusted by the fact that American automotive manufacturing had to a large extent fallen by the wayside.

He decided to take action, and the Elio manufacturing plant is the old General Motors plant in Shreveport, Louisiana. Around 90 percent of the components will be manufactured in the United States.

The price point is another thing that is quite attention-getting at just $6800. If you are interested, they're taking reservations, and you can click the following link to get all the details:Elio Motors.
