Behold the 2015 Ram 1500 Texas Ranger Edition; Chuck Norris Approves

When you're in Texas, look behind you, cause that's where the Ranger’s going to be...

That's right, Ram has built the Chuck Norris of pickup trucks, and it's ready to face-kick the GMC Denali and Ford F-150 Platinum Limited Lariat XLT King Ranch thing. But will it be going into production? Let's find out...

In Texas, 20 percent of all registered vehicles are pickup trucks. This is a big market for Ram, and special edition pickups make up a considerable amount of their total sales. The Texas-only Ram Lone Star edition accounts for nearly 40% of their Texas half-ton sales, shifting over 230,000 units since its introduction a couple of years ago. And to improve their statewide brand awareness, Ram has partnered with the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and Museum to promote not only the museum, but a possible new special edition of their most popular pickup truck.

Based loosely on the Ram Laramie Longhorn, the Texas Ranger Edition features a unique two-tone color scheme with Bright White on top and Bright Silver on the bottom. There's a large Texas Ranger badge on each front fender and the tailgate. And each of the 20-inch wheels feature a little tiny Texas Ranger badge in the middle. According to the press material, Ram says the white/silver color scheme “embodies the white hat and silver badges that the good guys always wear".

On the inside, the Laramie Longhorn's Canyon Brown and Tan leather interior is spruced up with all sorts of Walker Texas Ranger details. There's a big silver Ranger badge on top of the center console, embossed leather badges stitched into the front seat backs, a big Ranger graphic in the helper screen between the gauges, and real silver Mexican pesos are inlaid in the wood trim on the doors. Special galvanized metal-look trim is used throughout the cabin. There's a new steering wheel with a distressed metal Ram badge and special accent stitching. And beneath the center console lid, you’ll find a locking safe... it's because Texas.

Ram says the Ram 1500 Texas Ranger Edition is just a concept vehicle, but Captain Obvious says they're planning to put into production sometime soon. That is, if Chuck Norris gives the go-ahead...
