Spring Break at the Barrett-Jackson Auction

A lot of people say that they like the change of seasons, but I'm not so sure. I can't really say that I ever want summer to end, and I have taken action to prevent it at times by living in places like Florida or southern California.

There is however one good thing that goes along with the end of summer: The beginning of football season. We have one more game in front of us, and then there are that excruciating couple of months before baseball gets underway.

Once the Super Bowl is over, spring is the thing that we have to look forward to, and many people look toward the Sunshine State to get summer started early during spring break. College students are front and center, but classic car fans can also take advantage of the April Florida weather.

Barrett-Jackson consistently provides great buying opportunities for serious collectors, and the next big auction is going to take place in Palm Beach, Florida. The event will be held April 17th through the 19th, and there will be some extraordinary classic cars on display.

One killer vehicle going to go up for bids is a 1959 custom Chevy Corvette hot rod. This scintillating red and white convertible creation is powered by a 2002 Camaro LS1 350, and has a five-speed manual tranny. The car is pristine inside and outside, and truly looks like it just came out of the showroom.

Another very cool Corvette on the block is a 1966 Corvette with a four speed, a rebuilt 427 cubic inch 390 horsepower engine, and a side exhaust. The Nassau Blue beauty was restored in 2006, and all the numbers match. It has power steering and power brakes, and the teak wood steering wheel is a very nice touch.

Barrett-Jackson is still taking consignments, so you can participate on that end, or you can have your buying power at the ready as a collector looking to add on.

A mind-boggling array of cars will be on display in April, and this is par for the course when it comes to Barrett-Jackson Auctions. And speaking of par, you can certainly get your golf on as well if you make it to the Palm Beach event.
