Sam Pack Collection on the Block in Dallas

They say that everything is big in Texas, and the statement is true when you stop and think about it. The state itself is huge, there is a big sky overhead when you hit the open road, and there is a number of big cities.

There are also big cattle ranches, and that means big steaks. You can get a 72 -unce steak at the Big Texan in Amarillo, and you don't even have to pay for it (assuming you can eat the whole thing, and the sides, in an hour.)

In Texas you go big or you go home, and Sam Pack has certainly lived large when it comes to the automobile business. He owns a number of car dealerships in Texas, and he is highly regarded throughout the industry.

Pack has won the Quality Dealer of the Year award that is presented by TIME magazine (In partnership with Ally Financial and in cooperation with the National Automobile Dealers Association), and the Texas Automobile Dealers Association presented him with their highly prestigious Legends Award.

The man has sold a lot of cars in his day, but he is also an avid collector. You can check out his collection online, and, as you might imagine, it is a big one: There are around 375 models on display.

If you want to help Pack lighten the load, you may want to head to Dallas on November 14th and 15th. Yes, this is short notice, but it is well worth it if you are serious about adding to your classic car collection.

RM Auctions is going to auction off 130 specimens from the Sam Pack collection, and there are some stunning vehicles going on the block. One of them is a 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 H race car. The crimson beauty is powered by a 295-cubic inch Ford V8 engine that is rated at 527 horsepower. There is no reserve, but it is expected to sell for somewhere between $100,000 and $150,000.

Another very cool offering is the 1931 Chrysler CG Imperial Roadster. The car is in nearly pristine condition, and these models are extremely rare. There were just 100 built, and there are only 12 of them known to be in existence.

People like Sam Pack are buyers; they don't usually sell their prized possessions, so this is a rare opportunity to bid on some truly incredible motor vehicles.

If you have the urge, go to Dallas, go big, and go home with the collectible car of your dreams, courtesy of Mr. Sam Pack.
