2015 Range Rover Can Now Drive Itself Up a Mountain

We know the all-aluminum Range Rover is one of the capable off-roaders on the planet. Now the 2015 Range Rover has taken that ability to a whole new level. That’s right, the new Rover, and its jock twin, the 2015 Range Rover Sport, can literally drive themselves off-road…

A Range Rover is designed to climb every mountain. Ford every stream. Follow every rainbow, until you find your dreams. To make the hills come alive with the sound of music*, all a 2015 Range Rover owner has to do is crank up the volume on his Meridian sound system. And now, he doesn’t have to do anything but steer, thanks to the revolutionary All Terrain Progress Control.

Pressing the ATPC button on the console activates an invisible driver that takes control of both the brake and gas pedals. The person behind the wheel simply selects a desired speed (up to 19 mph), and the Range Rover’s computers do the rest. The system precisely modulates the power for maximum traction in any environment; it works in reverse too.

To see this opposite-of Downhill Assist Control in action, hit play on the video below…
