Recall: Ford Transit in a Double Play

The Ford Motor Company has issued two recalls for certain 2015 Ford Transit Connects and Ford Transit cargo vans—1,319 Conncects for a potential brake fluid leak, and 600 cargo vans for a problem with windowless sliding doors

The sliding doors could open during side impact accidents, and passengers could be ejected from the vehicle. Ford will notify owners, and dealer will install a reinforcement plate into the windowless sliding door, free of charge. Ford's number for this recall is 14S16.

The potential brake fluid leak in the rear brakes may, if only one side is affected, cause a longer braking distance; if both sides are affected, the could be a complete loss of braking. Ford will notify owners, and the replacement of the sealing washers on both rear brake caliper to brake hose joints will be free of charge. Ford's number for this recall is 14S15.
