Honda Knows That Safety Counts

The minivan is the go-to vehicle for many families since they come with room for lots of stuff, lots of people, and your four-legged family members too. Since they cater to those with children, safety is at the forefront for both buyers and manufacturers.

With that in mind, Honda must be thrilled with its recent rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTS) for the 2015 Odyssey. On the front and side impact tests it was given five stars, the highest that can be awarded, while on the rollover test it garnered four stars. Overall another five stars were given to the Odyssey.

Even the most basic model of this minivan comes equipped with six airbags and antilock brakes. Brake assist and vehicle stability assist with traction control are also standard. If this isn’t enough for you, forward collision warning and lane departure warning are available as optional features.

As a comparison, the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country received only four stars for its overall rating. Nissan and Toyota have their own versions of the minivan, the Quest and Sienna respectively, but they have not been rated by the NHTSA.

If you’re in the market for a safe family vehicle, the new Odyssey is on sale now at your local Honda dealership.
