Could the 2015 Volkswagen Golf Be a Key VW Model In Their Quest for World Domination?

From the introduction of new models to overshadowing the Winter Olympics, Volkswagen has a been on a mission to have a more recognizable global image. One new model, the 4-star 2015 Golf, could make the brand a more prevalent brand in the United States.

A excellent 1.8L engine, attractive price, and appealing features have many people talking about the new Golf TSI S. From the ground up, the Golf is new and improved, and one of the first VW cars to benefit from the new MQB architecture. The new Golf is 2.1" longer and a half an inch wider than the previous model. Its height was cut 1.1" and the interior is still as comfortable as ever.

Replacing the unfortunate 2.5L 5-cylinder with the new 1.8L is a smart move. This engine offers more torque—200 lbs.-ft at 1,500 RPM—making for great throttle response and quick acceleration.

Pricing starts at $17,995 for the limited edition launch model with a 1.8L turbocharged 4-cylinder. This 170-horsepower model will have a 5-speed transmission and will be available only as a single car at each dealer. The least expensive 2015 Golf model will be the two-door TSI S, starting at $18,995 with the same engine and transmission. A two-door TSI S with 6-speed auto starts at $20,995 and the four-door Golf starts at $20,095.

The diesel Golf TDI is said to get more than 40 mpg on the highway and starts at $21,9995. A 210-horsepower GTI starts at $24,395 with 6-speed manual, and $25,495 with six-speed dual clutch auto.

Affordability, the new engine, and more responsive handling make even the base model a very attractive choice.
