Mecum Auction Coming to Harrisburg in July

If you are interested in buying a classic car, you can look around in your hometown, scan the classified ads in your local newspaper (be it the paper or online edition), or visit classic car sites online.

These are all viable options, but there is another avenue to explore: classic car auctions. There are a number of companies that hold auctions on an ongoing basis. One of the best among them is Mecum Auctions. The company calls Wisconsin its home, but they hold auctions in various different locations around the country.

You can count on seeing some extraordinary vehicles at any Mecum auction, and there is going to be an absolute treasure trove on display in the near future. From July 24th through July 26th—Thursday through Saturday—Mecum is holding a huge auction in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The auction is being held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, located at 2300 North Cameron Street in Harrisburg. There will be no less than 1000 classic motor vehicles up for auction at the July Harrisburg event.

Featured vehicles include a 1927 Chevy Street Rod, a sweet white 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible, a 1968 Corvette convertible, a 1961 Nash Metropolitan, and a stunning red 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider.

Clearly, with 1000 vehicles in the mix we can mention only a few here, but the selection is absolutely extraordinary.

The auction is a three-day event, so you will have plenty to do while you are there without even thinking about anything but cars. However, Harrisburg is the capital of the state of Pennsylvania, so it is a vibrant city with plenty to do once the daily auctions come to a close.

Harrisburg is located within driving distance of a number of big cities, so it is a viable road trip for many east coast classic car fans.

The starting time for the Harrisburg Mecum Auctions is 10:00 for all three days. The admission charge for adults is going to be $20 per day, and children who are 12 years of age and younger can enjoy the auction for free.

If you are looking to add a stunner to your collection this summer, head out to the Harrisburg Mecum Auction. It's a great opportunity to see a huge variety of classic motor vehicles up for bids.
