Motor City Mashup: Baseball and Classic Cars

Going on a vacation, even if it is for a long weekend, is something we all live for. If you love classic cars, there is nothing like taking your ride for a ride when you have time off, and the getaway itself is the ultimate payoff.

At the same time, planning trips can be enjoyable as well. Now that we are all connected to the Internet, it's easy to poke around to find out what is going on around the country. When you do this, you invariably find that there are no shortages of fantastic things to do if you are passionate about cars.

Now, let's look at the buffet factor. To me, the best thing about a good buffet is the fact that you can get a taste of many different things that you like at the same time. Road trips that provide that buffet sense of satisfaction are especially appealing.

There is an event going on in Detroit during the month of June that provides a multifaceted experience for the classic car enthusiast, and you should certainly consider attending.

First of all, we are talking about the Motor City here. Any automotive event taking place in Detroit is going to have a certain authentic soul to it, because it's taking place at the epicenter of American auto making.

Catching a classic car show in Detroit is something meaningful in itself to true-school classic car heads. However, how about a smorgasbord of major-league baseball and classic cars? Have I got your attention now?

The Detroit Tigers Classic Car Show is taking place outside of Comerica Park on Saturday, June 14th. It is being sponsored by Total Lubricants along with Motor City Casino Hotel. That would imply to me that you can get your gamble on as well while you are in Detroit, if you are so inclined.

The event is going to take place from 12 noon until 4 PM, but that's just the start of a very full experience. That evening you can head inside the stadium and watch the Tigers take on the Minnesota Twins.

You can simply ogle at the dozens of classic cars that will be on display, or you could actually participate by entering your own vehicle. The registration fee for participants is just $139, and it includes tickets to the game, a taste of ballpark food, and some car show schwag.

This is the event that keeps on giving, allowing you to go back for seconds. If you want to learn more about the show, visit the official website of the Detroit Tigers.
