Mercedes Benz G55 AMG Goes Purple

When you look at the clean, sharp edges and punishing demeanor of the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG, the last thing you should be thinking is, "Boy, that sucker would look good in 'I Love You' purple." But the SEMA auto show is all about making a scene with loud colors and elaborate body kits, so that's how Wald International decided to go about its business.

The Wald Black Bison G55 was created in conjunction with Toyo Tires, Jonari and several other partners. What makes this "bison" stand out the most, especially if it were to ever see any actual off-road action, is its matte purple wrap.

Once your eyes adjust to the violet, you'll notice that the Black Bison has a pretty drastic body kit with huge wheel arches that are widened by 20 mm, a new grille and front bumper, and new forged wheels wrapped in Toyo high-performance rubber.

In a preview of its SEMA vehicles, Toyo said of the tune: "Making its U.S. debut in the Toyo Tires booth is the crowd-stopping, matte purple WALD Black Bison Edition Program for the Mercedes Benz W463 G-Wagen. Designed by Wald International of Japan, this upgraded Mercedes Benz symbolizes the sport tire segment that Toyo Tires helped define for SUVs and light trucks. The G-Wagen will be equipped with 295/30ZR24 Toyo Proxes ST II high-performance tires."

That's about all we know about this purple elephant, but the SEMA show will reveal more details in just a few days. If you're going, be sure to stop by Toyo's booth to see this thing in person.
