Restyled Nissan GT-R To Debut Next Month

Nissan has a tendency of detailing next-generation GT-Rs in the fall. It did it with the 2012 version; it did it with the 2013 model; and it will do it again with the 2014 model. A new rumor indicates an early-November debut for the next year of Godzilla.

The rumor hails from the North American GT-R Owners Club and suggests that Nissan will reveal the new GT-R on November 2. The model will allegedly go on sale in Japan about two weeks after that debut.

Unlike the last two updates, the 2014 GT-R will not get an output increase from its current 545-hp and 463 lb-ft. The engine will get some modest tuning to improve its performance across speed levels. The GT-R's impressive 2.8-second 0-62 mph time may see a slight bump to 2.7 seconds, and a new Nurburgring record is also in Nissan's sights. The suspension and chassis will also get tweaks, improving handling and comfort.

In terms of styling, no changes are expected to the exterior of the standard model. The interior will get a few modest updates focusing on improved materials.

While this latest rumor suggests no substantial styling changes, past rumors have said to expect some minor updates, including revised bumpers.

If the latest information is accurate, we should know exactly what the 2014 GT-R is all about within about three weeks.
