Honda Unveils The 2013 CR-Z In Indonesia

Honda unveiled the 2013 three-door Honda CR-Z at the Indonesia International Motor Show. Until now, the Japanese auto-maker had only released images of the face-lifted hatchback.

A major exterior change for the new CR-Z is a redesigned front grill sans the vertical bars. A new and more pronounced front bumper encasing modified LED running lights sit below HID headlamps. Completing the exterior changes are LED lamp clusters at the rear, new exterior mirrors, rear diffuser and new 17-inch wheels.

Interior changes consist of an instrument panel tachometer which now illuminates in three different backlight colors including blue, red and green based on the mode selected. Another change is a new two-toned black and red seat fabric.

Already offered by Honda is the Normal, Sort and ECON driving mode. New for 2013 CR-Z is the performance enhancing Plus Sport System which can be initiated by using a separate S+ button.

As promised by Honda, the CR-Z has been equipped with more power. The existing 1.5 liter 4-cylinder i-VTEC hybrid engine has increased the power and torque from the previous 122 hp and 173 foot-pounds of torque to 134 hp and 190 foot-pounds of torque for the CVT engine when coupled with the six-speed manual transmission. These improvements are not expected to have any negative effect on emissions or fuel economy.

Previous models offered paint colors of White Pearl, Crystal Black and Milano Red. The new models will also offer two additional colors of premium Northern Lights Violet and premium Energetic Yellow Pearl.
