2013 Chevy Spark Is July's Hottest Seller

As we learned last month, new cars tend to equate to fast-selling cars. This month, the all-new 2013 Chevy Spark benefits from being the new kid on the block. The tiny car knocks off the previous sport and luxury leaders to be the fastest seller of July.

In June, the Cadillac XTS and Subaru BR-Z tied for the title of quickest selling cars, according to data from Edmunds. Those two took a slide down July's chart to make room for the Chevy Spark. The $13,000 minicar took an average of just 6 days to roll off of dealer lots.

The Toyobaru continued to enjoy hot-selling success. The Scion FR-S moved up from June's four hole to tie the Subaru BR-Z for second with an 11-day turnaround in July.

Meanwhile, last month's other leader, the Cadillac XTS, slid to number 4 with a 14-day turnaround. The 2013 Subaru Imprezza slotted at number 3 with a 13-day average.

The Chevy Spark will certainly cool down from its quick-selling July, but Chevy can expect strong small car sales. The Spark's bigger brother, the Sonic, currently leads the subcompact segment for 2012 with 6,278 sales. Chevy sold 1,460 Spark models last month.

The Chevy Spark is Chevy's smallest US-market car ever. Drivers will enjoy a break at the dealership with the low MSRP and a break at the pumps thanks to a combined 34 mpg (32 with automatic transmission). More than just a tiny eco-box, the Spark offers some interesting equipment like standard AC, electronic stability control, power windows and alloy wheels. The 1LT and 2LT trim offer Chevy MyLink with 7-inch color touch display and six-speaker audio system with Sirius-XM. If we're to believe a recent rumor, it will also be one of the first cars to get integrated Apple Siri technology.
