Subaru BRZ And Scion FR-S Among Hottest Sellers Last Month

It would appear that there's a big market in the US for entry level Japanese sports coupes - or maybe just hot, long-anticipated new sports coupes. Both the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S hit the market in the spring, and sales have been strong ever since. In fact, both models were among the fastest-selling vehicles in the month of June.

Edmunds' fast-selling lists looks at averages for how long cars sit at the dealership before selling. In the case of Subaru BRZ, which tied the Cadillac XTS for fastest-selling in June, that number is 7 days. Subaru also led the pack in May with a 4-day turnaround time.

The Scion FR-S, which was number 2 in May with a 5-day turnaround, got bumped to number 4 in June by the Audi TT RS. The FR-S averaged 10 days in the lot.

Of course, the measure isn't entirely impartial. Newer cars tend to do better due to the built-up demand and limited supply of early production. The FR-S and BRZ had years of hype leading up to their recent market debuts, so it's not surprising that sales have been strong over the first few months.

Similarly, the Cadillac XTS hit the market in June and enjoyed strong initial demand. It tied the BRZ with a 7-day turnaround and led Cadillac to its best sales month of the year.

When compared to the industry average of 55 days, all those numbers are quite impressive.
