New Chevy Promotion Gives Money-Back Guarantee

When it comes to many products - clothes, electronics, sports gear, etc. - you can typically return items that you don't like. While the nature of those returns varies wildly by product and retailer, it's always nice to know that you have a remedy should a purchase not work out the way you'd hoped. Unfortunately, when it comes to the most major purchases in life - homes and vehicles, for instance - you don't have any such leeway. We've all heard the line about a car losing half its value the minute you cruise off the lot, so a return is usually out of the question.

For a limited time, Chevy is extending an unusual opportunity. It's calling it the Chevy Confidence program, and participants will be able to buy, drive and return any new Chevy vehicle.

Chevy doesn't seem too worried about losing its shirt in the program because its confident buyers will be satisfied (hence Confidence Program). The program runs from this month through September 4 (maybe Chevy is only two months' worth of confident).

The first half of the Confidence Program is called "Love It or Return It." Buyers can drive any new 2012 vehicle off the Chevy lot, try the car out for a month or two, and return it if they're not satisfied. Chevy's announcement includes a few stipulations: 30 to 60 months, 4,000 miles or less, and no damage.

"Total Confidence Pricing," the second half of the Confidence Program, extends special pricing to all 2012 model-year vehicles. The preferred pricing is in addition to other standard model-specific incentives.

"We have transformed the Chevrolet lineup, so there is no better time than now to reach out to new customers with the love it or return it guarantee and very attractive, bottom line pricing,” says Chris Perry, Chevrolet global vice president of marketing. "Research has shown customers respond positively to the confidence companies demonstrate with programs like this and appreciate the peace of mind that comes with knowing they have the option of being able to return their vehicle."
