Kia Releases Supermodel Super Bowl Commercial

Puppy dogs and hyper-excited aliens are cute - heck, even sand-bearing elves make us crack a smile - but if you really want to win the hearts and minds of America's red-blooded football fan, there's really only one way to do it: gorgeous women. There's a reason that sports teams have cheerleaders.

That's the direction that Kia takes with its Optima Super Bowl commercial, featuring Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima - one of the most lusted after women in the world - and a bevy of bikini models. To round out 60 seconds of sheer, testosterone-fueled excitement, Kia also throws in some hard rock courtesy of Motley Crue, championship bull rider Judd Leffew and UFC fighting legend Chuck Liddell.

The 16-second teaser clip released last week was basically a long, slow motion shot of Lima, making it look even more sexy than the actual commercial. In the actual ad, Lima plays but a supporting role in a greater story that's based around the vastly different psyches of men and women. The "Sandman" comes in to cast sweet dreams upon a soundly sleeping woman but accidentally spills some of his dream dust on her husband. What ensues is two very different versions of "sweet dreams."

With its supermodel, celebrity and random (lumberjacks sawing a submarine sandwich?) cameos, the commercial is an all-out spectacle. Kia does a good job of making a commercial clearly aimed at men humorous and relevant for the other half of our population with its dual-sex storyline.

In Kia's press release, Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx said: "Mötley Crüe had a blast doing the Kia commercial. A hot model, a fast car, a pro fighter, pyrotechnics and rock n' roll...What's not to love?" (Ya gotta take the chance to pull a Nikki Sixx quote out of the press release on those rare opportunities.)

In addition to unveiling the ad on the Internet on Thursday, Kia showed it at more than 18,000 movie screens as part of the pre-show for First Look. The 60-second commercial will air during the fourth quarter of the game.

I would have to say this is my favorite Super Bowl ad so far.

Awesome commercial i really like it, it was alot different than all the others.
