Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes Take On Nissan...Juke?

It's taken us a while to think of the Nissan in the same way as more traditional sports and supercar legends like Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini. But ever since it debuted, the Nissan GT-R has done nothing but kick ass, providing more performance for the price than any car we can think of.

Thinking of the Nissan Juke small crossover in the same way we do the GT-R is going to take even more time and effort. But this new video gets us off to a solid start.

The video was released in support of the Juke R's role as the pace car for the 24 Hours of Dubai rally race, which took place last month. It pits the Juke R against such flashy supercars as the Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes SLS AMG and Ferrari 458 Italia.

Seeing as how the video was made by Nissan, it's not exactly a fair, impartial race. The Juke R starts ahead of both the 458 Italia and the SLS AMG and it's pretty clear the other drivers aren't exactly trying to blow the Juke R away.

Still, it's a fun piece of action that shows some cars racing around a scenic, half-kilometer track next to the waters of the Dubai International Marine Club. It also showcases just how much of a performance boost the 485-hp GT-R powertrain gives to the Juke R. If you didn't appreciate Nissan's supercar before, watching its powertrain push a bulky crossover to new levels of performance should bring you there.

The Juke R's big body cuts some performance when compared to the GT-R's sporty, aerodynamic build, but not necessarily as much as you might think. According to Nissan, the Juke R hits 62 mph in 3.7 seconds - about as fast as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 - and tops out at 160 mph.

More action, less talk:

Finally we get to see the Nissan Juke-R on a track and it sure did show up that Lamborghini.

Awesome race and the Juke-R totally dominated the whole race.
