Bugatti's Latest Special Edition: Super Sport Edition Merveilleux

Boy do I envy everything about this guy. Not only does the media refer to him by his first name, but he gets a special one-off edition of the world's fastest car for his birthday. That's some James Bond-level stuff right there.

The man is known simply as "Simon" and the car is called the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Edition Merveilleux.

To be fair, the reason that the lucky new Bugatti owner is known only as Simon is because a Bugatti video presentation to him refers to him only by first name. In a world where customers of exotic cars are often anonymous, we actually know more about this guy than most others. So it's not like he's some mysterious double agent who goes by a fake first name to avoid being identified when the $#!@ goes down, though I'd like to think that has just a little to do with it.

Further removing this story from the realms of spy novels is the fact that Simon purchased the car as a birthday present to himself. So it wasn't actually a multi-million-dollar gift from some shadowy, quasi-government spy agency for a job well done.

Regardless of the details, Simon got himself one bad-ass car. Unfortunately, there isn't any information as to what separates this one-off special edition from the "standard" Super Sport, but given that it's a bespoke version of the fastest car in the world, it's bad-ass no matter what. And it's the first Veyron Super Sport in the Chinese market, so that's just another nice, little trophy.

The video itself is more than a little creepy. It starts off with some off-the-wall close-up head shots of several Bugatti executives and then goes into some gratuitous congratulations and general ass kissing. Then, finally, they reveal the car. Then more unfortunate exec close-ups and ass kissing.

At least the video shows a few angles of the car, from which we see a glossy carbon fiber exterior, bright blue leather interior and Edition Merveilleux badging.
