Koenigsegg's Labor Day Record Gets Official (Video)

It may be difficult to remember in this time of burgeoning winter, but back when the warm, bright days of summer were just giving way to the crisp days of autumn, Swedish hypercar-maker Koenigsegg rattled the world record scene with six different world records. None of the records were quite as prominent as top speed or 0-to-60/62 mph, but they were all equally impressive to the supercar connoissuer.

It took a few months, but Guinness has officially certified one of the biggest records set by the new Agera R. More importantly, we now have some video footage of this hypercar making its dent in the books.

Not only does the video highlight the Agera R's feats, it shows the car in an all-new red paint. And it looks as good as you'd expect.

On September 2 in Ängelholm, Sweden, the Agera R set records for measures including 0 to 200 mph, 0 to 186 mph (300 km/h) and 0 to 300 to 0 km/h. The full list is as follows:

0-300 km/h = 14.53 sec

0-200 mph = 17.68 sec

300-0 km/h = 6.66 sec

200-0 mph = 7.28 sec

0-300-0 km/h = 21.19 sec

0-200-0 mph = 24.96 sec

Koenigsegg did everything by the books with a third-party there to measure. It submitted the records to Guinness for verification, and Guinness has officially stamped the 0-300-0 km/h record of 21.19 seconds. Koenigsegg's newsroom doesn't say anything about the other five records, so we assume those are still pending.

It didn't take long for the Agera R to make its mark on the record books. The car debuted less than a year ago at the Geneva Motor Show and now owns all those records.

The Agera R is a more extreme version of the already potent Agera. It's powered by a 1,115-hp 5.0-liter V-8 engine and weighs under 3,000 lbs.

Alright, enough chit chat, here's the video you've been waiting for:
