2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Reveal

After a series of leaks, the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe got a little more official last weekend when Hyundia presented it in Korea. Hyundia's sportiest car gets even sportier in the model-year facelift, both in terms of power and looks.

Hyundai debuted the new Genesis Coupe at the Korea Speed Festival 2011. The first thing you'll notice in the picture is a markedly updated front fascia that shares some styling cues with the Veloster. The new, sporty fascia gets a bulging, hexagonal grille; redesigned headlights; and LED fog lights, among other changes.

The most recent pictures don't include a rear shot, but we know from a photo posted on Hyundai's Korean blog last week that the Genesis Coupe also wears sportier taillights.

The Genesis Coupe upgrades have as much bite as bark. Not only does the car look sportier and more aggressive, it actually is. The two engine options have been significantly upgraded. The base 2.0-liter turbo four now puts out 275 hp and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, up from 210 hp and 223 lb.-ft., and the 3.8-liter V-6 puts out 350-hp and 295 lb-ft. The outgoing V-6 put out 306 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.

Both engines can be mated to a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.

The 2013 Genesis Coupe isn't an LA car: It will make its North American debut at the 2012 North American International Auto Show this January in Detroit.
