2012 Nissan Maxima Is the Latest Price Hold

Japanese brands sure are reluctant to increase prices this year. Honda held pricing on its Accord; Toyota is selling the Camry for less than its 2011 equivalent; and now Nissan is placing a price hold on the Maxima. Both the 2012 Maxima 3.5 S and 3.5 SV are offered at the same price as their 2011 equivalents. And they get a few upgrades to boot.

The 2012 Maxima 3.5 S will start at $31, 750 and the Maxima 3.5 SV will start at $34, 450. Those prices are before a $760 destination charge. Both models are powered by a 290-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine and Xtronic CVT transmission with available paddle shifters.

The 2012 Maxima gets some subtle modification on the exterior styling, including a new grille, new rear lights, and new 18-inch and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Two new colors—Java Metallic and Dark Slate—will also be available to buyers.

Maxima 3.5 S buyers wanting a little something extra can now get the Limited Edition Package, which delivers smoke headlights, rear spoiler, 18-inch aluminum-alloy Dark Hyper Silver finish wheels, dark satin chrome grille, fog lights, outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, and metallic trim. The MSRP for the Limited Edition Pacage is $710. Other available packages include the Premium Package, Sport Package, and Tech Package.

Inside, the 2012 Maxima gets a new audio display, new Dark Piano-hairline trim, new cherry wood-tone trim, and a new metallic-finish trim. Cafe Latte is now available as an interior color option. Options include premium Bose audio, RearView Monitor, and Nissan Hard Drive Navigation system with XM NavTraffic and XM NavWeather.

The 2012 Maxima is in dealerships now.
