Video: Polish Supercar Gets Down to Business

About two months ago, we reported with much shock that Poland has its very own supercar—okay, perhaps "very own" is too strong, since the styling is inspired by [ripped off] Lamborghini, and its engine is all- American. Still, though the eastern European nation that finds itself at more than its share of bad jokes has a supercar that it can call its own.

Since that unveil, we've been itching (or not really thinking about) how this car performs. Question [or lack thereof] answered.

The Arrinera is powered by a 638-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine, which is rumored to be the LS9 engine from the Corvette ZR1. That engine pushes a combination of tubular steel chassis and Kevlar and carbon body to what's certain to be impressive numbers. Unfortunately, we don't have an official 0-to-62 mph or top speed just yet.

What we do have are two new videos that tell more than specs ever could—a deep but controlled grumble, a memorable rear-end with slanted slat taillights, and Lambo-style doors (and everything else). Drivers both young and old seem to enjoy the car, but for some reason, it appears to get blown out of the water by a BMW in the second piece. That seems like the kind of thing that should have disappeared in editing.

Arrinera plans to offer the supercar—which still doesn't have an official model name, as far as we can tell—in the U.S., Middle East, China, and Europe beginning next year. Check out the new footage:
