Definitely Dartz: Red Chromed Bugatti Veyron

Russian tuning/armored vehicle firm Dartz has a way of messing around with endangered species. First, it had to publicly retract the "whale penis" leather option from one of its armored SUVs. And now it's ruined the Bugatti Veyron, a car that is in itself an endangered species thanks to the fact that the production run of the Veyron 16.4 is about over.

Environmentalists may not care much about this Veyron tune (though they may get a little hot about the Veyron's horrible, horrible fuel economy), but car fans should be angry because one of the 300 Bugatti Veyrons out there is now uglier than ever. And for no good reason.

Interestingly, this bright-red atrocity is actually a "tuned tune." The Bugatti was originally tuned by Dubai's TAM Auto Engineering, which we believe is where the red-chrome exterior originated. Deciding that the Dubai-distaste that was poured all over it just wasn't extreme enough, the owner took it to another world hot-bed of tasteless tuning: Dartz.

The end result of a whole lot of tunin' is a red chrome-wrapped Veyron that looks like a shiny, red tin can with interior upgrades, a snake skin wrap and new wheels. The Veyron was always a pretty loud, love-it-or-leave-it supercar, but this just takes it over the line.

After the great whale penis debacle of 2009, Dartz issued a statement, part of which read: "We just looking for most expensive products for this car—and that’s why we choosed whale penis leathure when we checked it is most of most. After wave of protest we realised our mistake and make a decision not to use natural leathure at all."

I'd like to think they'll issue a similar broken English acknowledgement of error for this tune.

You don't quite get the feel for just how shiny and obnoxious this Veyron is from the photo, so be sure to watch the video clip:

Couldn't they afford four matching wheels?
