Porsche Cajun Pictures Leak

We've known about the official existence of a Porsche crossover for several months now, but have yet to see the beast in person. While it's not hard to imagine what it will look like—just look at the Cayenne and do your best to think small—it's always nice to put a face to the name. Thanks to the leak of a few in-house renderings, we now have a fuller picture of what Porsche's upcoming crossover will look like.

According to Autocar, the leaked renderings are from an internal Porsche styling exercise. Interestingly, the renderings show a three-door crossover, indicating that Porsche is developing two body styles, a five-door and a three-door. The three-door Cajun pictured is sportier than we were expecting, featuring more of a fastback-style cabin and higher ride height than we'd have pictured on what's essentially a baby Cayenne. While sportier, it's still a Porsche, which means it will get the same general 911 face that every other Porsche in the lineup has.

The Cajun will be based on the Audi Q5. It's expected to feature tuned versions of Audi four- and six-cylinder gas and diesel engine options, as well as optional Audi four-wheel drive.

In addition to unique looks, the Cajun will distinguish itself from the Q5 in offering a Porsche-designed interior that shares certain elements with the next-generation Boxster. Porsche is hoping the crossover will attract a younger breed of Porsche buyer.

Cajun production is expected to begin within two years. Porsche announced in March that its upgraded Leipzig factory will be responsible for building the new crossover. The Cajun name has not been finalized, and the car may go by a different name in production.
