2011 Hyundai Sonata Comes Into Its Own.

Could there be any denying that the previous Hyundai Sonata was heavily influenced by the Camry and Accord? No, I think we can all agree on that. While the old Sonata borrowed lots of influences from the aforementioned reigning champions, the latest Sonata was completely redesigned for the 2011 model year. Now with sharply styled interior and exterior, safety features, plus the added benefit of extreme fuel efficiency; the 2011 Hyundai Sonata comes into its own.

Engine options for the new Sonata will include a 2.4-liter inline 4- or a 2.0-liter turbocharged variant. The base engine is all that most buyers will ever want, featuring its solid 198 horsepower and offering a combined 26 mpg with the automatic and 28 mpg with the manual. The Sonata is all the more impressive considering it is one of only two cars spacious enough to be classified a “large” sedan by the EPA.

Notable fuel economy is not the only thing the Sonata has going for it; It also boasts impressive safety. The Sonata is one of only two cars available on the market to have received both a top safety pick design from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a Five Star overall safety rating from the federal government's latest crash test procedures. All Sonatas come well equipped with safety features like antilock brakes, traction control, front seat side impact airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and active front head restraints.

The important thing in regards to the Sonata is exactly what it’s not, boring. The fit and finish of the cabin is very good. The modern Sonata looks upscale and the controls perform with a feel and precision befitting a more expensive car. Now classified as a large car, the Sonata boasts enough room to let four adults to fully stretch and enjoy the ride. The trunk has a slightly smaller opening than the norm, but its 16.4 cubic foot capacity is at the top of class.

Hyundai offers a full tech line up, featuring standard stability control and hill-start assist. Available luxury equipment features a three-piece panoramic sunroof as well as heated seats front and rear. Another new feature is the Sonata’s onboard telematics system. Emergency notification and anti-theft tracking features are available for free for the first two years.

Of course, being a Hyundai, the Sonata brings along a strong value proposition. Despite the fact that its starting price can be a couple thousand dollars cheaper than its rivals’ starting price, the base Sonata GLS comes with a lot of standard features, such as satellite radio, iPod connectivity and Bluetooth with phonebook download; that are either optional or not available from its rivals.

Previously, the Hyundai Sonata has established itself as being an excellent value, with long warranty coverage and plenty of options at an affordable price. Entirely redesigned for the 2011 model year, the Sonata will offer so much more. It’s just about the most unique car in the affordable midsize sedan class in a long time. It continues to offer that long warranty, but it now combines those traditional values with impressive styling inside and out. Hyundai's redesigned Sonata sedan has exploded onto the market to become one of the most popular cars available… period. It's the perfect example of how a good-looking product at a competitive price can attract customers.
