Aston Martin V12 Zagato Racer

As it detailed last week, Aston Martin is racing its all-new V12 Zagato in the VLN race at Nurburgring this weekend. Of course, it's not racing the street version shown at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este last weekend; it's racing a modified, track version of the car. In other words, we have a whole new Zagato-Aston sports car to ogle.
The new car gets prepped for the track with a rather drastically revised rear-end. There's a huge wing that will help keep the rear-end grounded, and a massive rear diffuser to assist it—that thing looks almost like it could groom a ski slope if it was just a tad lower.
Oh yeah, and it's a flashy mint green instead of the reddish-orange that we saw last week.
It's not yet clear what—if any—modifications have been made under the hood. The street version features the 510-hp 6.0-liter V12 engine from the V12 Vantage. We're assuming the race car gets a little extra performance, but will have to wait for the official info to know for sure.
After its appearance this weekend, the V12 Zagato will be back at the 'Ring next month for the 24 Hours of Nurburgring.
