Ferrari Superamerica 45 Revealed

Announced a couple of weeks ago, and revealed ahead of its official debut at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este last week, the Ferrari Superamerica 45 is the latest, privately commissioned one-off built by Ferrari Special Projects. It was commissioned by New York real estate mogul Peter Kalikow to celebrate his 45 years of Ferrari ownership.

The bespoke special edition is based on the Ferrari 599 and gets a variety of unique equipment including a rotating carbon-fiber roof with rear screen, aerodynamic optimized rear-end, and double air vents toward the front of the profile.

The dashing blue paint job is Blu Antille, which matches another key piece of Kalikow's collection—his 1961 400 Superamerica cabriolet. The wheels match the body color, save for the contrasting spokes, which are done in a diamond finish. Look closely and you'll notice that certain body pieces like the roof, front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser are in a darker blue that offsets the Blu Antille. The front end is accented with a chrome grille, and the remainder of the car gets subtle, offsetting touches like burnished aluminum side mirrors, A pillars, and door handles.

The dark-on-light blue theme continues into the interior where dark blue carbon fiber trim is used on the dash and driver area. The interior is further customized with Cuoio leather trim and Blu Scuro carbon fiber. An infotainment unit is also featured inside.
